Triize, a Tokyo listed company, signed a share transfer agreement toward acquiring all shares of LIMNO, a Tottori-based manufacturer, and a new management structure took effect at LIMNO on September 15. Yasuhiko Hase, who has held senior posts at LIMNO, becomes representative director and president, while Triize head Shumpei Iwao becomes chair of the board.
Yaneura Games announced on September 15 that its up-to-4-player co-op horror game In Us will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe. At the indie game corner, one or two people can play at a time. A closed beta test on Steam is planned after the event, with timing and participation method to be announced later.

Comunii Inc., which runs the PTA operations tool Comunii, has been selected for the 11th cohort of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Women's Venture Growth Promotion Program, APT Women. Representative Director and CEO Mamiko Ueda said the selection comes one year after the service launched. The program offers management knowledge and networking for women building businesses. Elon Musk's X and SpaceXAI have withdrawn their antitrust lawsuit against Apple, according to a September 14 filing. The companies had argued that Apple lowered the App Store rankings of Grok and X, and sought damages. The filing did not state a reason for the withdrawal or whether a settlement was reached. A separate suit against OpenAI over ChatGPT integration into Apple Intelligence continues.
The Wall Street Journal reports that OpenAI has acquired Glass Imaging, a Los Altos camera company founded in 2019, for more than $300 million. Glass Imaging develops GLASS AI, which improves image quality at the time of shooting by learning a target camera's aberrations and noise. Its Neural ISP is used in HONOR's HONOR 600. Co-founders Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop are former Apple engineers who led the team behind iPhone Portrait mode. TechCrunch says OpenAI had not responded to a request for comment.

Netflix and Sega announced a partnership on September 15 to adapt Sega game properties into film and television. Three projects are in production. A live-action comedy film based on Crazy Taxi is the first, with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand writing the script. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher, who produced the Sonic the Hedgehog films, produce with Sega's Toru Nakahara. A new animated Sonic the Hedgehog children's series is aimed at upper preschoolers, with Carlos Stevens and Nakahara producing. A live-action crime film based on Stranger Than Heaven, the Ryu ga Gotoku Studio game set in early 20th-century Japan, is also in development, with Nakahara producing. Genres span live-action comedy, kids anime, and live-action crime action. No distribution dates were announced.

Voice actor Hikaru Midorikawa appears for an ONE-PUNCH MAN panel, Shonen Jump+ editor-in-chief Yuta Momiyama and Weekly Shonen Magazine deputy editor-in-chief Yuta Hiraoka discuss MANGA Plus and K MANGA, and premieres include Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 and Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.
HonestlyRanked compared representative plans for Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Peacock, YouTube Premium, and Spotify. Total monthly fees for the nine services went from $95.91 in March 2021 to $154.41 in September 2026, a rise of about 61 percent, or $58.50 a month and $702 a year. Every service rose. Apple TV+ had the largest jump, roughly tripling from $4.99 to $14.99.
Uravation Inc. published the operating cost breakdown for its in-house AI agent group, called AI Employees, on September 14, 2026. The company tallied 10 days and 54 runs by the department that writes articles, from September 2 to September 11. Excluding the launch adjustment period, daily cost ranged from $16.03 to $31.01, with a 7-day average of $22.92. Converting at 150 yen to the dollar gives roughly 2,400 to 4,700 yen per day. Writing accounted for $213.05, about 81 percent of the 10-day total, while 208 generated images cost $50.00. Automated operation runs about $6 per run; observation-only checks cost about $0.65. The full 10-day total was $263.37. The company says it published the figures after the most common outside question about its September 10 AI employee list was how much the system costs to run.

A24 is set to co-produce and distribute "V/H/S: SCP," a film based on the SCP Foundation, as the next entry in the "V/H/S" horror anthology series. Deadline reported the scoop; a theatrical release is planned for 2027. Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios are producing, with Brad Miska, Ben Ross, Rami Yasin and Jakob Pollack as executive producers. On September 11 the SCP Foundation's official English Wiki posted a statement saying it received no consultation or contact from the filmmakers, and that attempts to reach them went unanswered. The Wiki also argued that A24 holds no exclusive rights to SCP content, citing the CC BY-SA license under which SCP works are published. On September 13 an A24 public relations representative told Kotaku that the worldwide rights apply only to this "V/H/S" entry and do not claim exclusivity over the SCP setting.
Mobitect and Broad Enterprise have started offering a finance scheme that lets real estate owners begin value-up construction and vacation rental businesses with zero initial investment. The finance company covers the entire upfront cost, so the arrangement does not touch the owner's personal or corporate bank credit lines, since it uses a trust and receivables securitization mechanism. Monthly payments run up to 120 installments at an interest rate of about 12 percent.
Studist's Teachme Biz takes Excel files, photos, and video and has AI build step-by-step operation manuals from them. A translation function produces multilingual versions, and revisions can be requested in plain language. The tool covers creation, sharing, and updates, with approval workflows, revision history, and restricted sharing for corporate use. Studist says it is used in manufacturing, retail, food service, and service work for standardizing operations and passing on veteran know-how.
LINC Inc., a joint venture between Globalive Inc. and Singapore-based IntentBridges Pte. LINC says its analysis of 30 domestic outlets found AI bot traffic rose about 50% between February and August 2026, while TollBit data cited for its own network showed a 25% increase over January to June.
KADOKAWA will integrate five anime production studios, ENGI, Studio KADAN, Chiptune, Bellnox Films, and Raging Bull, into a new company called Studio One Base Co., Ltd. in November 2026. The new company will be based in Toshima Ward, Tokyo, with Tsuyoshi Kikuchi as representative director and president. About 310 employees will move over, and KADOKAWA will hold 100% of the capital.

Mausu Promotion announced Friday that Kentarō Itō is recovering after a brain hemorrhage and emergency surgery. The agency said Itō fell unwell a few days ago and was taken to hospital, where he showed symptoms of a hemorrhage and had surgery the same day. His life is not in danger and his postoperative progress is going well. He will focus on rehabilitation with the goal of returning to work.
Voice actor Yuki Kaji's voice AI project Soyogi Fractal and Yoyogi Animation Academy will hold a joint CM narration contest. Students at the academy's nine campuses will make original narration by combining the voice synthesis software Bon Soyogi, built from Kaji's voice, with their own voices. Kaji heads the judging panel. His quote: using AI is not the goal, the question is how to use it as an extension of expression.

Chugin Capital Partners, which held KOMPEITO through its Chugin Infinity Fund No. 1, announced the listing. CEO Shun Watanabe said the company aims to become infrastructure for the food and health of working people.
DART's Corporation said its DAR (Digital Asset Rights Token) listed on the cryptocurrency exchange BingX and began trading on September 7, 2026. The pair is DAR/USDT. Amazon has introduced AI lip-sync technology on Prime Video that matches actors' mouth movements to dubbed dialogue. The feature starts with the German-language drama Maxton Hall, and only the English dub supports it so far. Lip sync is already visible in Seasons 1 and 2, with Season 3 planned for December 2026. Amazon says the number of titles will expand, without naming which.
Adam Wathan, founder of Tailwind Labs, announced on September 9, 2026 that the company is joining Shopify. Cygames began offering "Cygames Events" on September 10, a digital ticket sales service for official events of the card game "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond." Tickets are sold with no system fees, and linking a Cygames ID removes the need to enter a user ID at application and omits part of the information entry. Cygames said it plans further feature expansions but has not disclosed details or timing.
King Records launched Pop Team Epic into the Roblox license catalog at noon on September 9. The registration lets Roblox creators plan, build, and apply to publish games and experiential content using the manga's characters and world. Bkub Okawa's four-panel manga has run in Takeshobo's Manga Life WIN, now Takecomi!, since August 2014. The listing is positioned as a new form of IP use beyond manga and anime development.
Prazto and RICE CLOUD, an Oracle NetSuite partner, have begun a business alliance aimed at companies running NetSuite, linking ERP and CRM data into one view for management use. The first deliverable is a NetSuite management Tableau dashboard pack, five core dashboards plus two industry-specific ones. Later phases extend to Salesforce and accounting data, then to indicators that only appear when ERP and CRM are crossed.
TIFFCOM 2026 and the Tokyo International Film Festival have named 24 projects for the 7th Tokyo Gap-Financing Market, including five animated ones. Wacom announced on September 9 that it will raise reference prices at the Wacom Store for the MovinkPad 11 and MovinkPad Pro 14 from September 25, 2026. The MovinkPad 11 goes from 69,080 yen to 87,780 yen, up 18,700 yen. The MovinkPad Pro 14 goes from 144,980 yen to 193,380 yen, up 48,400 yen. Wacom cites higher memory and storage component prices, high shipping costs, and fluctuating exchange rates.
Tak-Me Co., Ltd. will begin offering SignAI, a corporate AI service for sign and signage companies, on September 10, 2026. The service supports three tasks: researching outdoor advertising ordinances, takeoff from drawings, and sharing internal know-how. Tak-Me, based in Kobe and founded in 2021, developed the service from customer interviews and early use before launch.
LOCOK Inc. and Dentsu Inc. have signed a business partnership and launched the joint project Tsukushikai Edutainment, the two companies announced. Medi Face, a Tokyo-based medical technology company, was selected on September 7 as an IT introduction support operator for the Digitalization and AI Introduction Subsidy 2026 program. Its AI mental health care tool was registered in the same program.
