Konami Digital Entertainment announced a remake of the 2008 PSP title Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX Tag Force 3 during the Nintendo Direct 2026.9.9 broadcast on September 9. The new game, Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX, is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, the remake brings back the original premise in which the player, a student at Duel Academia, is asked by the chancellor to take part in a Tag Duel at the graduation ceremony. Players talk with classmates who are also facing graduation, find a partner, and aim for the top in tag duels. The remake features more than 100 characters, with fully voiced duels for all characters. It also supports online battles, and graphics have been upgraded from the original PSP release. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin after the Direct presentation concludes.

Square Enix announced during the September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct that a trial version of Dragon Quest Monsters 4: Bianca and Flora of the Withered Land will be released after the broadcast ends. Team Machiavelli announced Monster Cuisine: Hunt, Butcher, and Enjoy on September 8, 2026, opening the Steam store page with wishlist and playtest registration open. The dot-pixel action RPG pairs monster hunting with tavern management. Players explore five biomes, fight creatures from goblins to minotaurs and other mythical beasts, and gather ingredients. Prey is butchered, seasoned, and grilled into dishes served to customers, and each monster defeated expands the recipe book. Sile announced that Monsterest, its PC inn management sim, has passed 70,000 Steam wishlists. The milestone follows a new trailer released in August. The game has been in development for two years since its announcement. A demo released in February 2025 has received continuous updates, and Japanese localization, initially listed as unsupported, is now in the current demo. The Monster Hunter Now Carnival 2026: Osaka press event ran September 1 at Capcom headquarters. Capcom began distributing free Monster Hunter Rise collaboration costumes for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 7. The DLC adds two outfits: Yo no Kei for Oni no Kajin (Shizuka Gozen), modeled after village receptionist Hinoe, and Yomogi no Mai for Izumo no Okuni, modeled after tea house girl Yomogi. Both costumes change appearance only and carry no combat performance effects. Players equip them through the Hama Kagami menu's Yosooi no Henkou option, which unlocks progressively as the game advances. The DLC requires the base game and is available through digital stores.
To mark the collaboration, Capcom published a special three-chapter manga titled Onimusha wa Gekiteki da yo!, following Hinoe and Yomogi as they visit the Kyoto of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It is available on the official website and official social accounts. A second three-chapter manga, Shizu to Okuni ga Asobi ni Kita yo!, featuring Shizuka and Okuni visiting Kamura village, is scheduled for September 8.

CAPCOM revealed the first trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance during Sony's State of Play on September 3. The trailer introduces Gundoraja, a new Elder Dragon that controls thunderclouds, and shows returning monsters Lao Shan Lung and Kushala Daora. Scopeley Explore and Capcom held a joint press conference on September 1 at Capcom's Osaka headquarters to announce Monster Hunter Now Carnival 2026: Osaka, the second real-world event for the location-based mobile game. The Carnival runs November 14 and 15, from 9:00 to 18:00 each day, with the main venue in the Namba area of Osaka's Chuo-ku, including Namba Parks, Shinsaibashi BIGSTEP, and designated areas along Midosuji. Tickets go on sale September 3 at 9:00 JST. Early-bird pricing through September 9 is 3,500 yen for a one-day pass and 4,000 yen for a two-day pass; regular prices are 4,000 and 5,000 yen. The event follows the 2024 Shibuya Carnival, which drew 20,000 players. Scopeley Explore president Keiichi Kawai and Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto spoke at the conference, and comedy duo Katsumi♥Sayuri appeared as special guests. Monster Hunter Now will also exhibit at the Midosuji Challenge 2026 municipal project on November 7 and 8.

Footwear brand Crocs is collaborating with the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters for the first time. The collection includes four footwear models inspired by Dark Yugi, Seto Kaiba, Black Magician, and Blue-Eyes White Dragon, plus Jibbitz charms. Japan gets the items first on September 9, 2026, with a worldwide rollout starting September 10. A pop-up event opens the same day at the atmos Ikebukuro store. The Dark Yugi Classic Clog uses an indigo base with a Millennium Puzzle charm and Black Magician details, priced at 11,550 yen. The Black Magician Echo Clog is purple with three-dimensional hat and staff charms, at 14,850 yen. Two atmos- models, the Seto Kaiba Classic Clog and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon Echo Clog, cost 11,550 yen and 14,850 yen respectively. Capcom released the first batch of its Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth lineup on September 1, with Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance headlining as the world's first playable exhibit of the expansion. The trial offers three quests: a new monster hunt set in the floating ruins field, a revived elder dragon hunt, and a Chatacabra hunt that doubles as a tutorial for players new to Monster Hunter Wilds. URAKITA Workshop, also written as URAKITA Kobo in one source, is selling a storage case shaped like the Large Barrel Bomb item from the Monster Hunter series. The case reproduces the metal parts of the in-game bomb with matte resin molding and uses domestic wood finished with traditional barrel joinery. The sides carry three-dimensional Barrel Bomb and Guild Emblem icons made through metal engraving, and the Monster Hunter series logo is printed on the bottom exterior. The item doubles as a piggy bank because its lid includes a coin slot. Priced at 4,290 yen including tax, the case has been available on the URAKITA direct sales site since August 25, with shipping scheduled for the end of September 2026. Capcom unveiled a new trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders during this year's gamescom Opening Night Live event, introducing a new Elder Dragon monster named Ruger Aidal. The game is an open-world survival title for iOS and Android devices, scheduled for release in 2026. Pre-registration has begun on the App Store and Google Play. Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent, is developing the game under license from Capcom. The trailer shows Ruger Aidal appearing with a mysterious aurora phenomenon, spreading its large wings, and transforming into a sun-like mass of flames that burns everything around it. Q-Games announced PixelJunk Monsters 3 on August 27, 2026, during the Future Game Show at Gamescom 2026. The game is a new numbered entry in the tower defense series that began with the 2007 PS3 original and has sold over one million copies across platforms including PSP, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, and PC. PixelJunk Monsters 3 returns to the hand-drawn art style of the original, now rendered in 4K resolution. Premium Bandai has opened reservations for the "Gigantic Series Godzilla (2001) 25th Anniversary Ver.," a large-scale figure commemorating the 25th anniversary of the 2001 film "Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack." The figure measures approximately 78cm in total length and 40cm in total height. It features cloudy white eyes, a full-body sculpt, and added dirt paint and battle scars inspired by the film's fight scenes. The price is 78,100 yen (tax included). Reservations are open until 23:00 on August 16, 2026, or until the preparation quantity is reached. Shipping is scheduled for October 2026. Separately, Bandai Spirits revealed the full lineup for "Ichiban Kuji Godzilla: The Most Terrifying Monster King Chronicles," which includes a Godzilla (2001) Owakudani Appearance ver. figure as the A prize, sculpted by Yuji Sakai. The lottery also features Battra (Larva) and Godzilla Junior figures, plus a Last One prize of a Godzilla (2001) Night Battle SOFVICS Heat Ray Emission ver. Capcom has opened preorders for a new figure box set based on monsters from Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The set, titled Capcom Figure Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus THE BEST ~Vol. 25 & 26~, is available through the e-Capcom online store for 11,880 yen (tax included). It collects six popular monsters from the latter half of the Sunbreak expansion: Primordial Malzeno, Scorned Magnamalo, Gaismagorm, Chaotic Gore Magala, Soulseer Mizutsune, and Risen Shagaru Magala. The figures are sold in blind boxes, meaning the contents are random and buyers cannot select which monster they receive. A bonus feature allows collectors to assemble an Espinas Subspecies (Clear Ver.) figure by combining included bonus parts. The set is scheduled to begin shipping on March 12, 2027.

Capcom has announced a price revision and product lineup restructuring for Monster Hunter Wilds, effective August 4 at 9:00. The game's standard edition will drop to 4,990 yen (tax included). Three existing bundles-the Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition, and Cosmetic DLC Pass-will be discontinued. Three new set products will replace them: the Gold Edition (base game plus two items), the Cosmetic DLC Collection (all 10 DLC packs), and the Extra Cosmetic DLC Pack (paid DLC previously sold separately). Premium bonuses previously tied to the discontinued editions will be obtainable through the new sets. The changes come ahead of the super-large expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, scheduled for 2027. The game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

Bandai Spirits' S.H.MonsterArts line is releasing a figure of Evangelion Unit-01 'G' Awakened Form from the Godzilla vs. Evangelion collaboration.
