Sony's September 2026 PS Store Charts Put Onimusha on Top for PS5
The chart separates a new premium release winning its launch month on PS5 from catalog titles and free-to-play listings still holding the top spots on PS4 and in the free-to-play category, which is where Sony's download data shows the two halves of the store diverging.

Sony Interactive Entertainment published PlayStation Store download rankings for September 2026 across four categories. Onimusha: Way of the Sword took No. 1 on PS5, ahead of Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon - A Somewhat Lovely Remaster at No. 2 and EA SPORTS FC 27 at No. 3. MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD led PS4, Cities: VR - Enhanced Edition led PS VR2, and the free-to-play monster-collecting RPG Animo topped the free-to-play category.
The PS4 list is all catalog: MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age, and Resident Evil 6, with no new release among the top three. The PS5 top three, by contrast, is led by a new entry, with EA SPORTS FC 27 and its new social football space, The Grounds, at No. 3.
