Alliance Arts released Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic ~ the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. on September 10 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The game is a modern remake of the 2002 bullet hell shooter Touhou Koumakyou, led by original creator ZUN, and marks the first official Touhou Project shooting game on console platforms. It includes a New Classic version with high-resolution graphics and all BGM rearranged by ZUN, plus a Classic version that reproduces the 2002 game as faithfully as possible. The Classic version can inherit replays and save data from the original ver1.02h. New features include a Spell Practice mode and an unlimited lives mode for newcomers. The standard edition costs 1,990 yen, and a deluxe edition with a digital sound player app is 2,966 yen. The original source code was lost, so a programmer from the doujin circle AQUA STYLE independently analyzed the game and built a Switch version, which became the project's starting point. A DVD backup found at ZUN's home helped recreate character portraits. The New Classic version also supports 4K resolution.
During the Nintendo Direct streamed on September 9, 2026, Nintendo announced that Star Fox Adventures will be added to the Nintendo GameCube Nintendo Classics lineup. The game becomes available immediately after the Direct concludes. Star Fox Adventures is the third entry in the Star Fox series, originally released in 2002. Production is handled by Ellipse and La Chouette Compagnie, with directors Juan Pablo Machado and Joe Celse at the helm. Hamster will release Console Archives Nobunaga's Ambition: Sengoku Gunyuuden on September 10 for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. The download costs 800 yen and supports one to four players. The game is a re-release of the 1990 Koei 8-bit simulation war game, the third entry in the Nobunaga's Ambition series. The player takes the role of a feudal lord and works to unify all 38 provinces, including Kanto and Chubu, by commanding warlords through war and diplomacy. The company also confirmed that the Armored Titan and Female Titan will be made into figures in the same line. The Eren Yeager figure is still in development, with the prototype shown as a work in progress.

lowiro, the developer behind the rhythm game Arcaea, released In Falsus on Steam on September 9, 2026. The rhythm adventure game combines a keyboard and mouse control scheme with a full-voice visual novel story and card crafting. Players use one hand on six keys (Shift, A, S, D, F, Space by default) to hit notes on the lower lane while the other hand moves the mouse to handle notes on the upper lane. Square Enix released two UNDERTALE arrangement albums on vinyl on September 9 as the fourth collaboration between the game and the publisher. The piano album Echoes Beneath, produced by Yoko Shimomura, arrives as a two-disc black vinyl set with 15 tracks and jacket art by Temmie Chang.
