Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the October 2026 overseas Game Catalog lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. The list is split across three dates. The Midnight Walk, a claymation horror adventure from Fast Travel Games that supports PS VR2, arrives October 15. On October 20, Mafia: The Old Country from 2K, Horizon Forbidden West from Sony Interactive Entertainment, and the four-player co-op shooter Mycopunk from Devolver Digital join. October 27 brings Tales of ARISE - Beyond the Dawn Edition from Bandai Namco Entertainment, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 from Mob Entertainment, and Monster Energy Supercross 25 - The Official Video Game from Milestone. In the Classics Catalog for Premium members, Capcom's Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition are both listed for PS5 and PS4. Release dates differ by title. Titles without a specified date become playable from October 20.

Shueisha's MANGA MILLION platform has added Hiromasa Okujima's manga Together with Serial-san, which the service describes as a comedy about a college student who lets a wanted serial killer move in under his identity. The manga debuted in Shueisha's Grand Jump Mucha magazine on February 25. Okujima also created Baban Baban Ban Vampire, which ran in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shonen Champion from October 2021 and inspired a Netflix anime and a live-action film.

Writer Hare Tori and manga artist Hirosaki launched the manga Saijaku Mao no Shinimodori Saiseitan on Hero's Inc.'s HERO'S Web site on October 7. The story follows Krom, a Demon Lord weaker than his own generals, who kills himself after the Seven Heroes slaughter his forces and awakens one year in the past. Hirosaki previously drew the manga adaptation of Ryu Hidari's The Heroic Tale of the Villainous Prince novels.

Neos will release Nintendo Switch 2 versions of two Crayon Shin-chan games on March 4, 2027, the company announced on October 13, 2026. Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi ~Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi~ and Crayon Shin-chan: Sumi no Machi no Shiro both come to the system with mouse controls, 60fps display, higher resolution, an anywhere-save feature, and updated control guides. The two titles ship together in a single package, the Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi & Sumi no Machi no Shiro 2-in-1 Pack, priced at 9,900 yen including tax for Asia, with both games on one game card. TV Asahi's Aibou season 25 will hand the partner role from Yasufumi Terawaki as Kaoru Kameyama to Mitsuhiro Oikawa as Takashi Kobe partway through the season. The show premieres October 21, Wednesdays at 21:00, with an extended first episode, "PM Crisis." Yutaka Mizutani returns as Ukyo Sugishita, and TV Asahi will rebroadcast six selected Ukyo and Kaoru episodes from October 14.

The Jump Press livestream on Monday announced that Kota Kawae's Nue's Exorcist manga is getting a television anime adaptation, set to debut in summer 2027 on TV Asahi. The announcement also revealed a teaser video, a teaser visual, the main cast, and the main staff. Hiroyuki Hashimoto is directing at Studio Hibari. Hiroshi Seko is overseeing series scripts, Shunpei Mochizuki is designing the characters, Takayuki Yamaguchi is the sound director, and MONACA is composing the music. Kaito Miura voices Gakuro Yajima, Saori Onishi voices Nue, and Sayumi Suzushiro voices Kazusa Suo. Kawae launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 2023. Shueisha published the 16th compiled volume on September 4. Viz Media published the eighth volume in English on September 1. The manga topped AnimeJapan 2025's "Manga We Want to See Animated" poll.

Hiroya Oku, the manga author known for GANTZ, stated on his official X account on October 12 that he will retire with Kairoki Hime, the manga he currently serializes in Big Comic Superior. He had called it his retirement work in earlier posts, on February 4 and May 28. Kairoki Hime has volumes 1 and 2 on sale. Oku said he will draw both Kairoki Hime and GANTZ:E through to the end.

HD remastered versions of 14 works from Toei Video's OVA label Toei V Anime are streaming on d Anime Store, rolled out from October 10, 2026. The launch batch is Teito Monogatari, Desert Rose: Yuki no Mokushiroku, Elf 17, and HEN. Further batches follow on October 24, November 7, and November 21, including titles never released beyond VHS.

Banpresto will release two Blue Lock prize figures in its sweets flavor theme: Reo Mikage in a white suit from Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and Seishiro Nagi in a matching white suit from Tuesday, October 20.
