Aibou Season 25 Sets Baton Pass From Terawaki To Oikawa
Aibou is moving its long-running second lead into a mid-season handover, pairing a returning Kobe with Mizutani's Sugishita rather than resetting the duo at episode one.

TV Asahi's Aibou season 25 will hand the partner role from Yasufumi Terawaki as Kaoru Kameyama to Mitsuhiro Oikawa as Takashi Kobe partway through the season. The show premieres October 21, Wednesdays at 21:00, with an extended first episode, "PM Crisis." Yutaka Mizutani returns as Ukyo Sugishita, and TV Asahi will rebroadcast six selected Ukyo and Kaoru episodes from October 14.
Terawaki's Kaoru Kameyama is in his 12th season overall, and the switch to Oikawa's Takashi Kobe will happen at some point during season 25, not at the premiere. Oikawa returns as the "6th generation Aibou" after last appearing in 2012. Ahead of the handover, TV Asahi will rebroadcast six Ukyo and Kaoru episodes from October 14, including season 7's "Level 4" and the season 21 episodes that brought Kaoru back. The October 21 first episode, "PM Crisis," runs extended to 22:09 and features guests Michitaka Tsutsui and Ryo Kimura.
