Toei V Anime Marks 40 Years With 14 HD Remasters on d Anime Store
The label's catalog, including titles that never left VHS, is being mined from original negatives for streaming, which is the practical route for OVAs whose only surviving home format was tape.

HD remastered versions of 14 works from Toei Video's OVA label Toei V Anime are streaming on d Anime Store, rolled out from October 10, 2026. The launch batch is Teito Monogatari, Desert Rose: Yuki no Mokushiroku, Elf 17, and HEN. Further batches follow on October 24, November 7, and November 21, including titles never released beyond VHS.
The label launched in 1986 with Shonan Bakusozoku and released anime across a wide range of genres for more than 10 years, drawing creators such as Rintaro, Osamu Dezaki, and Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Rintaro served as series director on Teito Monogatari, a four-part OVA about the sorcerer Yasunori Kato and his plot to destroy the Imperial Capital with the vengeful spirit of Taira no Masakado.
HD remastering was carried out from the original negative film materials. For Desert Rose: Yuki no Mokushiroku, Elf 17, and HEN, the streaming run is the first time the titles have been available for unlimited streaming.
