ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN TRPG Launches June 19 With Four-Player Support

The tabletop role-playing game adaptation of FromSoftware's ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN will release on June 19, 2026, priced at 4,950 yen. Developed by Group SNE's Hironori Kato, the TRPG lets up to four players (one more than the video game's three-player cap) take on the role of night-crossers surviving three days in Limveld before facing the Night King. The game uses 11 playing cards to represent the map, with random events, enemies, merchants, and graces placed on each card. Combat is streamlined: players roll stamina dice to pay costs for weapons, skills, or magic, and damage is always applied to a single enemy unit per attack. The system includes the DLC The Forsaken Hollows content, adding the Undertaker and Scholar as playable characters. Leveling unlocks skills at level 2 and arts at level 3, with relic effects granting random bonuses from level 4 onward. A high-difficulty Deep Night mode offers up to five depths with red enemies and customizable parameters. Kato said he prioritized reproducing the original's exploration feel and speed, cutting elements until the game could be completed in roughly six hours for first-time players and three to four hours for experienced ones.

Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring Premiere Draws Praise for Focused Storytelling

Anime Feminist reviewed the first episode of *Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring*, a new urban fantasy anime that premiered at the start of the spring season. The episode centers on three female characters: Hinagiku, the frail Agent of Spring; Sakura, her loyal bodyguard; and Nazuna, a young girl they meet. The review praises the premiere for its small-scale, character-focused introduction, contrasting it with fantasy series that overwhelm viewers with worldbuilding from the start. It highlights the compelling dynamic between Hinagiku and Sakura, described as a "lady-and-knight" relationship with chivalric intimacy, though it notes that Sakura likely is not Hinagiku's love interest. Nazuna is singled out as a surprisingly effective character, given a subtle arc about hope and grief that grounds the magical elements. The review also notes that the episode ends with a montage hinting at a larger cast and higher stakes, leaving questions about Hinagiku's past and the reasons for her hiding. The visuals are described as lovely, and the writing as effective fantasy storytelling.

Agents of the Four Seasons Episode 7 Ends With a Missile Strike

Episode 7 of Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring, titled "Dusk," aired on May 11, 2026, and concludes with a ballistic missile striking the Autumn Compound. The episode's reviewer at Anime News Network describes the finale as an explosive escalation but criticizes the bulk of the episode for continuing the show's pattern of characters discussing trauma, recapping events, and delivering vague exposition about the Insurgents. The episode introduces the Agent of Autumn, Nadeshiko, and her Guard, Rindo, who initially appears as a cutesy knight-in-shining-armor but drops that persona when alone, revealing a down-to-Earth bodyguard. Rindo's friendship with a chatty technician at the compound is noted as charming, though the reviewer laments that these new characters mostly pontificate about the trauma of protagonists Sakura and Hinagiku. The Winter pair, Rōsei and Itechō, spend the episode sitting around discussing plot points that have not yet become relevant, with the reviewer expressing frustration that the Insurgents' goals remain unknown. The episode also features Hinagiku and Sakura spending time at a gift shop, which the reviewer calls "positively riveting storytelling" sarcastically. The reviewer criticizes the missile strike as cheap emotional manipulation, introducing a sweet child character only to have her blown up by terrorists, and doubts the show will do anything meaningful with the development.

Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring Episode 8 Review: Flashback Fatigue Sets In

Episode 8 of Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring is a full-episode flashback to Hinagiku's kidnapping, presented in black-and-white. The review criticizes the show for repeating traumatic scenes from the same event across multiple episodes without adding new information, and argues that the reliance on melodramatic flashbacks is undermining the narrative's forward momentum.
