Konami Digital Entertainment will give away original mineral water named Gensui at its Gensou Suikoden booth during Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe. Renta! announced Wednesday that Redoing My Youth In Another World -The God Of Death Is My Fanboy- is receiving an AniComi motion comic adaptation, airing January 2027 on Tokyo MX. Tomohito Takatsuka voices Makoto Fuwa and Ryuichi Kijima voices the God of Death Thanatos. Keita Ando directs at Do-Raku with Digital Shokunin. The production uses traditional motion comic methods plus generative AI in some shots, with manual touch-ups and rights permissions secured.
Bandai is re-releasing the Combi Miniature Charm gashapon line, miniature charms reproducing baby products from Combi Corporation. The five-item lineup includes baby mugs, baby bottles with pacifiers, stacking cups, ride-on toys, and a swan-shaped potty. Each play costs 300 yen. Episode 7 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity has Uryu take on Yhwach with one hand, a fight that lacks the punch of Ichigo's battles. The episode ends Gerard Valkyrie's fight abruptly, with Yhwach killing him as collateral damage. The animation remains the season's best, but the episode feels half-baked.
TOHO streamed a new 1.43:1 IMAX trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Godzilla Minus One directed by Takashi Yamazaki. The film is set in 1949, two years after the original. Good Smile Company is re-releasing two MODEROID plastic model kits from Giant Gorg, the Sunrise robot anime that Yoshikazu Yasuhiko wrote, directed, and animation-directed. The blue guardian robot Gorg and the amphibious vehicle Carrier Beagle both return in May 2027. Gorg stands about 165mm tall and includes a 180mm cannon, pulse launchers, and mini figures of Yuu, Doris, and Argos. Carrier Beagle measures about 230mm, was first kit-ized 40 years after broadcast, and includes the Captain and Doctor Wave mini figures.

Kodansha announced that THINKpod, its business video media launched in June 2026, has passed 300,000 subscribers on its official YouTube channel. The company says the channel is drawing support from U35 next-generation business leaders. Kodansha Creators Lab released MissMon, a looter-strategy game for PC via Steam, on September 8, 2026. The game, developed solo by Mach Habanero, tasks players with forming parties of five mythic monsters, called MissMon, to defeat the Demon King. Battles are automatic, and success hinges on pre-battle decisions about equipment and formation placement. There are 30 types of MissMon, each with a role such as tank, attacker, healer, buffer, or debuffer, and monsters can learn new abilities at certain levels, allowing for varied builds of the same type. The game features four weapon types (sword, shield, staff, great sword), nine attributes like fire and lightning, and over 140 equipment items with random skills and options. Equipment affects stats and attributes can trigger status ailments that, if chained, may wipe out enemies. A unique mechanic involves the 'struggle for equipment,' where winning battles lets players take enemy weapons, while losing risks their own weapons being taken by the Demon King's army. After defeating the final boss, endgame content unlocks with progressively stronger enemies and powerful weapons obtainable only post-story. MissMon is priced at 980 yen, with a 10% launch discount to 882 yen until September 21.
Cover Corporation announced during the livestreamed "hololive Next 2026.9.7" special on September 7 that its hololive VTuber agency is launching its first television anime project. The project is teased under the abbreviated keyword "OdeHolo" and is part of hololive's 10th anniversary celebration. Studio KAI, known for its work on Umamusume Pretty Derby, Fuuto PI, and Sentenced to Be a Hero, will handle animation production. Studio KAI previously worked on animated hololive projects and music videos. The official title, story details, and which hololive talents will appear have not yet been revealed. Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders for the Hyper Body Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Viper - Toxic Rabbit movable figure, bringing the character in a red bunny outfit to the action figure line. Kemco announced console versions of the visual novel Stellar Code for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4. The sci-fi mystery, originally released on PC in August 2025 by doujin circle Fragaria, will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Console release is scheduled for fall 2026.
Kaiyodo will start taking reservations for its Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Ocelot figure on September 11. Kodansha Game Lab opened the Steam store page for Catharsis ~The Last Atelier~, an immersive art adventure by creator Mana, on September 7, 2026. The game is planned for release within 2026. Players control a nameless being who knows nothing about humans, guided by a mysterious voice through ten paintings by Van Gogh, Klimt, and Monet. Each stage changes the viewpoint and controls: some are 3D walking spaces, others side-scrolling, and one involves traveling by boat. A wolf and an owl accompany the journey, letting the player ride across plains or fly to high places. The game has no game over and no time limits, and each stage takes about 10 to 20 minutes. Wishlist registration opened with the store page. Catharsis is Mana's debut work. Mana self-taught Unreal Engine after moving abroad, won Epic Games' Unreal Quest 5 contest, and was selected for Kodansha Game Creators Lab in February 2024. The game supports Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese, and is published by Kodansha.

Today's Special! opened the Steam store page for Sushi Shogi on September 7, 2026, with a demo now available. The PC game is planned for release in March 2027 and supports 20 languages including Japanese. Sushi Shogi is a variant of shogi where pieces are sushi, each with a price. Capturing an opponent's sushi requires paying for it out of your own funds. The game has two rule sets: Modern includes money, tries, and tea passes at 200 yen, while Classic has no money and simpler rules. Victory in Modern comes from capturing the opponent's Otoro, promoting your Otoro, reducing funds to zero, or winning a money tiebreak after three passes. Sushi pieces move differently, such as Ebi moving diagonally like a bishop and Ika moving like a rook. The game originated as a free Unityroom release by circle SurFun in August, and was exhibited at Tokyo Game Dungeon 13. Single-player includes a puzzle mode and CPU battles at three difficulties. Local and online versus play with Steam friends are planned.

Amagami Konomi, a VTuber signed to Million Production, took first place in the favorite VTuber category of the Chao Girls' Favorite Things Ranking 2026, published in the October issue of Shogakukan's shoujo manga magazine Chao. She had finished second in the same ranking in both 2024 and 2025, so the win is her first in three years of being listed. On September 4 she posted on X that she was very happy to finally reach the top spot she had quietly aimed for, and thanked fans. Konomi debuted as a VTuber in December 2022 and joined Million Production in April 2023 as a 0th-generation creator. She also works as an illustrator, designing her own avatar and Live2D model, and posts making-of videos on YouTube Shorts. In the October 2025 issue of Chao she wrote a nine-page manga one-shot. The previous two winners of the ranking were Hololive's Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine.

Konami announced Rhapsody in Scarlet, a new action game set in 1920s New York, during Sony's State of Play livestream on September 3. The story follows Ellie Myers, a young magus who arrives in New York to pursue a career as a jazz singer and is caught up in an incident tied to a mysterious mafia organization. She meets Ilya, leader of the Seekers, an elite organization of magi, and the two investigate the mafia's schemes while uncovering a battle that threatens the balance of the world. Trailer footage showed Ellie using electricity, fire, and water magic alongside monster companions in fights against giant summon beasts across a stylish metropolis. The game is being developed with Unreal Engine. Cherami Leigh voices Ellie Myers and Hannah Grace voices Ilya Jones. SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS perform the theme song "Cool/Hot feat. Emi Meyer." Konami plans to release the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players run the last kebab shop in a fallen world, collecting zombies to process into meat for kebabs, delivering meals by day, and defending the shop from Zomboners at night with barricades and stationary guns.
