Game Source Entertainment announced Noroi Ayashi: The Infinityth Oddity, a horror role-playing game developed by Clover Lab., inc., with a launch planned for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam in the second quarter of 2027. The project pairs manga artist Rensuke Oshikiri, known for Hi Score Girl and Sayuri, with producer Sohei Niikawa, the former president of Nippon Ichi Software who also writes under the pen name Roman Kitayama. Players control protagonist Seira, who enters U High School at night with newspaper club members Tae and Hime to investigate a friend's unexplained death. There they test a student rumor that a ritual summons the Cursed Doll Aya to kill a hated person, and the act pulls them into a cycle of nightmares. Each of the school's Seven Mysteries has its own evasion and sealing method. The game includes Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles, and is a single-player title.
BANDAI SPIRITS will establish Bandai Hobby Center Osaka, its first plastic model production plant in western Japan, in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, with operation starting in November 2026. The site has a total floor area of about 3,360.85 square meters and will hold seven multi-color molding machines. The company cites transport access and western Japan export ports as reasons for the location.
Apple announced that Siri AI, the headline feature of iOS 27 and its sibling operating systems, will enter beta in Japanese starting October. The feature is currently English only. Supported hardware covers iPhone 15 Pro and later, M1 iPads and iPad mini (A17 Pro), M1 Macs, and Apple Watch Series 9 and later. Cover Corp. will hold an AR online live for its hololive unit ReGLOSS on Sunday, November 29, 2026. The event, titled ReGLOSS AR LIVE "X-ReCHORD", streams only online with no venue viewing. Doors open at 17:30 and the performance starts at 18:00. Kanade Izuru, Ririka Ichijo, Raden Juufuutei, and Hajime Todoroki all perform. In the AR setup, the four appear on a real stage built from live-action sets and lighting, and when a member touches the pin badge on her chest, comments sent to her float around her. Viewers' support is also displayed inside the live space itself. A free partial stream runs on the ReGLOSS official YouTube channel for part of the first half. Paid streams go through SPWN and ZAIKO. Streaming tickets cost 6,500 yen with tax, and a Holo Focus add-on ticket costs 2,500 yen.
Bandai Spirits will release two 30MM items on Saturday, September 12, 2026: the 1/144 EXM-A9p Spinatio (Pirate Spec) at 1,760 yen and the Customize Weapons (Pirate Armaments) set at 968 yen. The Spinatio kit includes a movable body, armor, a rifle, a grenade, hook and knife attachments, hand parts, and multi-joints. The armaments set adds a pirate sword, double barrel pistol, trident, leg gun, anchor hook, and effect parts.
Netflix will begin streaming the live-action film Golden Kamuy: Abashiri Prison Raid on September 13, 2026, with no extra charge for subscribers. The film opened in Japanese theaters on March 13, 2026, distributed by Toho. Niconico News Culture Department will hold a public livestream event on September 23 at 14:00 featuring Nyarura and VA-11 Hall-A developer Kiririn, also known as Christopher Ortiz. The venue is the ninth floor of Shosen Book Tower in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, and part one runs from 14:00 to 15:30 on YouTube and Niconico Live. The event is a special edition of the program nyalra to Yofukashi, hosted by Nyarura, and the two creators, both working in indie game development, will discuss global otaku culture. After a ten-minute break, part two runs from 15:40 to 16:40 and answers questions from participants. Part two will not stream on Niconico Live or YouTube and is planned for distribution through a paid membership service. Attendees in person receive a newly drawn collaboration sticker by Paroro pairing Jill Stingray from VA-11 Hall-A with Saka from Imouto, Tasha, Paranoia. In-person tickets are on sale on a first-come, first-served basis for 2,550 yen including tax, with reservations handled through LivePocket.
The Enhanced ZZ Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is now a METAL ROBOT Spirits (Ka signature) figure, supervised by mechanical designer Hajime Katoki. Bandai Spirits announced a collaboration between the Gundam franchise and the VTuber agency hololive production, releasing two METAL ROBOT魂 action figures based on Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. The TV anime Hotaru no Yomeiri held a preview screening on September 6 at United Cinemas Toyosu, showing episodes 1 through 3 ahead of its October 9 premiere on Fuji TV's noitamina block. Voice actors Lynn, Kouki Uchiyama, and Kento Itou appeared in kimono, discussed their auditions, and played a game guessing which scene Lynn found most romantic. The answer was the episode 2 scene where Shinpei shows Satsuko fireflies and confesses his love.
Sylphiette from the TV anime Mushoku Tensei III: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu is getting a prize figure in Sega's Yumemirize line. The figure shows her in a white off-shoulder outfit with a tilted head and a blushing expression. It stands about 14 centimeters tall and rolls out September 11, 2026 at amusement facilities nationwide. Sega Fave is the manufacturer.
BANDAI SPIRITS is expanding its PlanoSaurus Gachikoseibutsu Club series with a new kit based on the Steller's sea cow, a large marine mammal that survived into the 17th century and is believed to have gone extinct in 1768. The kit is set for release on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at a price of 1,925 yen including tax. The Steller's sea cow model follows the series' two-build system: a skeleton build that lets assemblers learn the internal structure, and a dinosaur build where integument parts are attached over the skeleton. The skin parts include fine wrinkles molded into the surface, reproducing the animal's physique, which stored fat for adaptation to cold regions. Articulation covers the mouth, head, neck, arms, abdomen, and tail flukes, allowing the model to be posed in a swimming stance on a clear base included with the kit. Assembly is snap-fit with no adhesive or tools required, and parts pop off runners with a touch-gate system. The kit is non-scale and includes a sticker sheet and the base.

Developer Classi5ed revealed stretch goals that include a Nintendo Switch 2 version alongside the initial PC release on Steam and GOG, with an Xbox port planned as a future stretch goal. The campaign runs through September 30, 2026, with release planned for the third quarter of 2027.
The official website for the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend anime film presented the second full trailer, a key visual, a character visual for Miori Mitō, the theme song, and advance screening details on Sunday. The film is the latest anime adaptation of Hajime Kamoshida's Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series, and it is positioned as taking the story toward its finale. Bandai Spirits' Collectors Division opened preorders on August 27, 2026 for the METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shouki RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Specification), a top-tier finished robot figure priced at 137,500 yen including tax. The model stands approximately 310mm tall and is composed of over 2,500 parts. It reproduces the Gundam Mk-II's standard silhouette while adding original Kaitai Shouki setting gimmicks, most notably the High Mobility Combat Form, where the backpack thruster layout changes and armor panels deploy for heat dissipation imagery. The figure includes opening armor sections and a chest jack-up mechanism that exposes a spherical cockpit. A dedicated base with parts reminiscent of a catapult allows display in the launch scene pose from the series, and the set includes work arms, worker figures, and various beam effect parts. Classi5ed Studio is preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the RPG Lie of Caelum: Spirit, which the developer says is a sequel to the 2022 game Lie of Caelum and draws direct inspiration from Xenogears and Phantasy Star Online. Lead developer Stark, who runs the studio with the help of anonymous volunteers called Classi5ed Ops, built the game with RPG Maker MZ, a tool he says excels at RPG creation and allows custom plugins. The project began as pseudo-3D and evolved into 2.5D, taking two years of intermittent development. Stark says the game's story explores heavy themes such as identity, religion, and society, and the combat blends Xenogears and Phantasy Star Online 2 mechanics, with three-step combos, just attacks, and a stance system used by both allies and enemies. Exploration is Metroidvania-inspired, with companions unlocking new areas and mechs for vast terrain. Mini-games include a TCG, racing, shooting, a casino, and fishing. The game targets a 2027 to 2028 release on PC via Steam, with a playable demo planned for gamescom starting August 26 and alpha and beta tests for Kickstarter backers. The campaign starts August 31.
BANDAI SPIRITS has announced the productization of two new prize figures in the hololive IF series, which imagines various situations for Hololive members.
