Max Factory plans to reissue two entries in its PLAMAX Naked Angel line in February 2027. The Yuria Satomi kit returns as the 19th entry, and the Ushijima Iiniku kit returns as the 10th. The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise's official YouTube channel began streaming a special animated video on Monday promoting "KAZUKI TAKAHASHI: YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS," an exhibition devoted to the late manga creator. The event runs from December 12, 2026 to February 21, 2027 at Creative Museum Tokyo. The short brings Yugi and other familiar characters together in Domino City, with Blue-Eyes White Dragon appearing alongside Seto Kaiba. Eri Osada directed, Hiroko Utsumi handled the storyboard, Takahiro Kagami was character designer and 2D drawing director, and Haruka Taira was art director. Konami animation handled production. Aniplex released a character promotional video for Caster, voiced by Chiwa Saito, in Type-Moon studio BB's Fate/Extra Record on September 14. She is a curser with fox ears and a fox tail, described as venomous in personality but obedient to her Master's orders, and she uses sharp intellect for clever tactics. The game is a full remake of Fate/Extra, the PlayStation Portable title released in Japan in 2010. Kinoko Nasu handles original work and scenario supervision, Takashi Takeuchi provides character original designs, Arco Wada returns as character designer, and Meteorise handles development. ZD TOYS is producing Yoda and R2-D2 as part of its Infinity Action X Series, with Douyusha scheduled to import and sell both in Japan in November 2026 at 3,278 yen each including tax. Yoda stands about 80mm tall and comes with a hover chair, interchangeable hands, and a lightsaber. R2-D2 stands about 95mm tall and includes a light-up feature.
Jagex will release RuneScape: Dragonwilds out of early access on September 15, adding a version 1.0 build and console versions. Executive producer Jesse America said the studio weighed an action RPG, mobile projects, and ports before settling on survival crafting, a direction backed by a survey of 100,000 active RuneScape players. In that survey, action RPG, life simulation, and survival games all ranked high among genres players wanted. America said survival crafting fit RuneScape's sandbox design, where players value freedom over prescribed progression. The game entered early access on PC via Steam in April 2025 as a surprise, announced about two weeks before release. Some players started it expecting a new MMORPG, and America recalls some asking where the MMO was. He estimates playtime has grown from roughly 20 hours at launch to more than 100 hours now, and version 1.0 closes the first major story arc.
Xross Road has suspended TokiMake for maintenance ahead of a full renewal and opened pre-registration for the rebuilt service. Bandai Namco Filmworks announced on September 14, 2026 that Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO will air on television starting in April 2027 in Japan and North America. KADOKAWA will integrate five anime production studios, ENGI, Studio KADAN, Chiptune, Bellnox Films, and Raging Bull, into a new company called Studio One Base Co., Ltd. in November 2026. The new company will be based in Toshima Ward, Tokyo, with Tsuyoshi Kikuchi as representative director and president. About 310 employees will move over, and KADOKAWA will hold 100% of the capital.
Blizzard Entertainment and Netflix are developing an animated series set in the world of Diablo. The project was announced during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026, which streamed on September 13 Japan time and took place September 12. Blizzard confirmed the series is in development with Netflix and said further information will be shared as production progresses. The announcement was part of Blizzard's presentation of its plans for the franchise. Blizzard's official BlizzCon recap describes the project as a new animated series set in the world of Diablo. So far the two companies have confirmed only the partnership and the setting within the Diablo universe. The Diablo franchise is set primarily in Sanctuary, a world caught between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells. Netflix confirmed production on Friday of Outback, a live-action series with the working title, based on Yong Sung Choi's webtoon G'day. Kyung Hong plays Sion, who travels to Australia after his older sister's sudden death and investigates what happened to her. Jun-Yeol Ryu, Ho-yeon Jung, Ji-an Won, and Justin H. Min also star. No release date is set.
The second main promotional video for the television anime Vertex Force debuted at Aniplex's Aniplex One Focus presentation event. The series, directed by Kazuhiro Takamura, whose prior directing credits include Strike Witches and Vividred Operation, begins airing on October 3.
