The Detective Is Already Dead. Season 2 will air from October 7, 2026, on TOKYO MX and other networks. The third promotional video revealed parts of the opening theme "Kono Shinzou ni Hanataba wo" by Kokobai and the ending theme "Hakuchuumu" by Kagura Nana. Akari Komiyama joins as Mia Whitlock and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Scarlet, both members of the Tuners. The season was originally planned for July but was pushed to October.

The staff for the second season of The Detective Is Already Dead, based on the light novel series by Nigoju and Umibozu, revealed a third promotional video, new cast members, and an October 7 premiere on Friday. The anime will debut on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m., with streaming starting earlier at 10:00 p.m. on d Anime Store. It will also air on AT-X and BS NTV, with additional streaming services to follow. Kadokawa had previously scheduled the season for July before delaying it to October. New cast members include Akari Komiyama as Mia Whitlock and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Scarlet, both introduced in the trailer. Okamoto's Scarlet is described as one of the Tuners and identified as the "Vampire," while Komiyama's Mia Whitlock is another Tuner holding the role of "Priestess." Manabu Kurihara returns to direct at ENGI, with Deko Akao handling series scripts and Yosuke Ito designing characters. The opening theme "Kono Shinzo ni Hanataba wo" is performed by Kokorone, while Kagura Nana performs the ending "Hakuchumu." Both themes are written, composed, and arranged by 40mP.

The staff for the second season of The Detective Is Already Dead released a new promotional video, theme song details, and character visuals on July 4. The season is now scheduled to premiere in October 2026, after being delayed from its originally planned July 2026 air date. The opening theme song "Kono Shinzō ni Hanabata wo" (A Bouquet for This Heart) is performed by Kōme, while the ending theme "Hakuchumu" (Daydreams) is performed by Kagura Nana. Both songs are composed, arranged, and have lyrics written by 40mP. New character visuals were unveiled for the returning main cast: Kimihiko Kimizuka, Siesta, Nagisa Natsunagi, Yui Saikawa, and Charlotte Arisaka Anderson. Manabu Kurihara returns to direct the second season at studio ENGI, with Deko Akao handling series scripts and Yōsuke Itō designing the characters. The second season was first announced in July 2022. The first season aired 12 episodes starting in July 2021. As part of the franchise's fifth anniversary, voice actress Saki Miyashita, who voices Siesta, recorded a cover of the first season's opening theme, and a seasonal visual and voice drama project has launched. The 14th volume of the light novel series is set for release in Japan on October 23.
