Square Enix announced during the September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct that a trial version of Dragon Quest Monsters 4: Bianca and Flora of the Withered Land will be released after the broadcast ends. qureate announced on September 8, 2026, that it will bring three titles from the "Bunny Garden" series to the Konami booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17. Players who try the demos will receive a box of tissues the studio describes as "ideal for wiping something," with the caveat that "what to wipe is left to the customer's discretion."
The playable lineup is "Bunny Garden," the original conversation game set at a gentlemen's resting place; "Hebebereke Bunny Garden," an action spin-off about escorting drunk girls home; and "Bunny Garden 2," the sequel that reached No. 1 in sales on Steam and has an announced action figure.
The giveaway is not the only product news. The Dragon Quest 40th anniversary exhibition Dragon Quest the DIVE will run in Osaka from January 26 to March 14, 2027, at Grand Front Osaka's North Building Knowledge Capital Event Lab. Tohokushinsha and Square Enix announced the dates on September 7. The Tokyo run, held July 17 to September 6 at Tokyu Plaza Harajuku's Harakado, drew more than 90,000 visitors and sold out all tickets. The main attraction is the Dragon Quest VR RIDE, an immersive ride using Meta Quest 3 headsets and motion seats. Riders cross plains on a killer panther, dodge monsters in a forest, and fly through the sky with wind effects. After the ride, visitors move through zones including a castle, field, town, and item shop. A special ticket includes a framed three-pin badge set of Roto's Sword, the Sky Sword, and the Hero's Sword Kai, with the 40th anniversary logo. Ticket sales begin September 8 at 10:00 through the Square Enix app, followed by a Lawson Ticket advance sale October 6 and general sale October 21. A collab cafe with a menu different from Tokyo's will also run, open only to ticket holders.

Arc System Works streamed a gameplay trailer for Qliphah in Providence's Shadow on Friday. The trailer previews combat where players stack skills within a limited time to damage enemies and counterattack by overlapping skills. Nintendo eShop pre-orders opened the same day, bundling three skins for protagonists Hizuki Rena and Soma Hoshigami and a "Voidfall" battle with 16 high-difficulty battles. Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, told a PAX West 2026 panel that the project is an attempt to pass FF7 to the next generation rather than a simple remake. TV Asahi's classical music program "Music Concert Without a Title" will broadcast a special "Dragon Quest Concert conducted by Koichi Sugiyama" on September 26 at 10:00. McDonald's is bringing SpongeBob SquarePants and One Piece together for a Happy Meal collaboration launching September 15, 2026. The company began streaming an animated commercial on Monday that shows SpongeBob characters dressed as One Piece's Straw Hat Pirates and antagonists, following an initial teaser image posted on August 13 that featured SpongeBob as Luffy. The U.S. collection includes 15 exclusive toys, with SpongeBob appearing as both Luffy and Gear 5 Luffy. Creator sooncha announced on Friday that they have withdrawn the copyright for Yang Can't Live Alone from Square Enix. The manga ended on Manga UP! on August 13. sooncha will move the series to an unnamed company, with a new revised edition to be published in Japan physically and digitally. Square Enix will stop digital distribution on August 31. Translated versions remain available until their agreements end.
