Furyu's survival TPS ANOMALITH is set for an October 29, 2026 release, and a demo for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 began distribution on October 8. MON handled character design, working from a concept of Showa retro, liminal space, and anomalous phenomena. In an email interview, MON describes giving protagonist Minazuki Reona a neutral look for balance and leaving a human quality in her monstrous form.

Store pages for an iOS and Android version of Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise are live and list Netflix as the distributor, according to reporting by RPG Site. The pages state a Netflix subscription is required and give age ratings of 13+ on iOS and 16+ on Android. Neither Capcom nor Netflix has made an official announcement.
The Pokemon Company finished maintenance on Pokemon HOME on October 7 and turned on connectivity with the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Players can now move Pokemon caught in FireRed and LeafGreen into the cloud service and carry them into other Pokemon titles. The transfer runs one way, so Pokemon sent to Pokemon HOME cannot go back to FireRed and LeafGreen. Completing the Kanto Pokedex (GBA) in the smartphone version of Pokemon HOME earns a Celebi housed in a Cherish Ball with the original trainer name Mitsurin. The same update raised the Pokemon HOME Premium Plan deposit ceiling from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokemon, with the plan's fee unchanged. Pokemon HOME is free to use on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. FireRed and LeafGreen arrived on Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026 as a port of the 2004 Game Boy Advance remake of the original Red and Green.
Pokemon apparel goes on sale at Don Quijote and Apita stores nationwide from 9:00 on October 10. The lineup has two parts. BIG kigurumi hoodies carry a face on the hood and come in Pikachu, Gengar, Psyduck, and Snorlax, at 4,399 yen with tax. Pullover hoodies at 3,299 yen with tax cover Eevee and its evolutions, a collection of Unown, Mimikyu, and Ditto.
Sony will release the Xperia 10 VIII on October 8, 2026 in Japan, with the open-market model priced around 99,000 yen. Specs sit close to the Xperia 10 VII. Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise account confirmed on Friday that Monster Hunter Rise has passed 20 million copies sold worldwide. The game launched on Nintendo Switch in March 2021, then on PC via Steam in January 2022, and arrived on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox Game Pass in January 2023. The Sunbreak expansion followed in June 2022 for Switch and PC.
S.H.Figuarts Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, is scheduled for release in April 2027 at 12,100 yen including tax. Preorders opened Thursday, October 1, 2026. The figure stands about 165mm tall and includes four interchangeable facial expression parts, a Nichirin sword set, a bandage set, an interchangeable head parts set, and two types of interchangeable hand parts for each side.
AS KNOW AS plus has released a Design Long-Tee with Acrylic Keychain in collaboration with Monchhichi, priced at 4,345 yen with tax. A new TV anime based on the Monster Strike smartphone action RPG is titled Mera×Death: Death and My Abnormal Love and will begin airing on January 5, 2027 on TOKYO MX and nine other terrestrial stations, with streaming planned. The PV follows Mera, approached by a mysterious girl named Thirteen who invites him on a date, then whispers "I'll kill you." Kenta Kushiya directs, Tadashi Sakazaki designs characters, and Qzil.la and studio keel handle animation.
The anime of Makoto Morishita's The Fledgling Demon Lord's Starter Shop manga released its second teaser promotional video, a key visual, and a new character visual. Yohei Azakami joins as Ash, the hero who once defeated the demon lord. Reiji Kawashima and Rumi Okubo were previously announced as Villager and Mao. The series premieres in January 2027 on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and other channels. Jun Taira directs at project No.9.
Konami has revealed new artwork versions of "Astellar of the White Forest" and "Rizette of the White Forest" for the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG set "COMPLETE FILE - The Devil of the Sinful Spoils Hunt -." Both cards appear in Prismatic Secret Rare with Overframe spec, alongside the new card "'Devil of the Sinful Spoils Hunt' Diabellstar." The made-to-order set holds 98 card types, costs 22,000 yen, and is scheduled for release at the end of March 2027.
Kotobukiya is producing an OSHI WORKS figure of Harpie Lady from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, priced at a reference 9,350 yen and listed at 8,752 yen on Rakuten Books, which has opened preorders. The painted completed figure carries the catalog number GP008 and shows the character in her cyber bondage outfit, with magnets used to secure it so the pose can be adjusted. GU will release a 19-item Pokemon collaboration on October 23, themed on a Trainer living with Pokemon in a forest. The lineup runs from 1,490 yen graphic T-shirts to 4,990 yen full-zip knit jackets, plus fleece parkas, sweat lounge sets, and kids' pieces. Adult sizes go from XS to 3XL, kids' items from 100 to 160 cm. Sales start at 7:15 on October 23, 2026.
Premium Bandai began accepting pre-orders on October 2 at 1:00 PM for the Pokemon Scale World Miare City Deuro & Mega Starmie set. The figure line renders trainers and Pokemon at roughly 1/20 scale. The set covers Miare City, the setting of Pokemon LEGENDS Z-A, and pairs Trainer Deuro, who travels with the protagonist as part of MZ Dan, with the partner Pokemon Mega Starmie.
Bandai will sell the Gashapon "Among Us Mejirushi Accessories" starting September 28 at 11:00. The line has 8 types: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, White, Pink, and Orange. The Pokemon Information Bureau account posted a Respect for the Aged Day video on September 21 showing the old man Hagi chasing his Wingull, Peeko-chan, in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. The footage is noticeably clearer than an October 2021 Fishing Day post using the same game, and fans have read the difference as a sign that a Ruby and Sapphire port may be coming. No official announcement exists.
In a Game Spark interview, solo developer KITTYPOOL says the visual novel Kutsuhimo Monogatari and its spinoff PAIC: Moon Rider Monogatari grew from a shared love of the 1997 RPG Moon. KITTYPOOL calls both works pop entertainment despite their social-problem themes, and cites superhero comics, film criticism, Alan Moore's Top 10, and the ECD rap classic as influences.
Indie developer Allen Hung is distributing a demo on Steam for Humongous Tree Growing Simulator, an incremental game about growing a giant tree fed by human blood. Players extend the tree into new rooms, build blood-extraction production lines, and fight off enemy waves in a tower defense format. A roguelike structure adds meta-upgrades across runs. The release date is undecided and the game does not support Japanese.
The Pokemon Company will release merchandise themed after Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket at Pokemon Centers on September 26, 2026, with Pokemon Center Online sales starting at 10:00 on September 24. Toei Animation released non-credit videos for the opening and ending themes of 'Our Selected Best Adventure' on October 4. Ayumi Miyazaki and Takayoshi Tanimoto perform the songs. 'SHAKARIKI!!' is the opening, 'Limitless Dreams' the ending, both with lyrics by Hiroshi Yamada, music by Michihiko Ohta, and arrangement by Takayoshi Tanimoto. The opening gathers characters from the four series that were voted on and hints at the start of a new adventure.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, that smartphones will not disappear, and that what follows them is another smartphone rather than a new device category. A belt-type interface and AI operation assistance system, based on research from the Masaki Takahashi Laboratory, allow users who cannot move their hands, including people with quadriplegia, to move independently.
The 44th Golden Joystick Awards opened public voting for 21 categories, closing October 23. Big Walk and 007 First Light each appear in five categories, tied for the most nominations for a title. Resident Evil Requiem has three, the most for a Japan-origin title. The Ultimate Game of the Year shortlist arrives October 26, and the ceremony is set for November 11.
Toei Animation released the main PV for 'Our Chosen Best Adventure' on September 27, a broadcast of fan-selected episodes from Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02, Tamers, and Frontier. The PV shows the first footage from the TV anime Digimon Adventure restored in HD remaster and unveils the opening theme 'SHAKARIKI!!' sung by Koji Miyazaki and Takayoshi Tanimoto. The official Yu-Gi-Oh! anime YouTube channel will stream episodes 125 to 134 of Yu-Gi-Oh! The run covers the latter half of the Battle City arc and includes episode 128, known as "Jonouchi Dies," and the preview at the end of episode 127.
The official Among Us X account announced on September 23 that a new role will be added within the next week. The teaser names nothing, only that the role's name is a 10-letter word starting with "I." Whether the role belongs to the Crew or the Impostor faction is not announced. Players have guessed names such as "influencer" and "instigator." A Crew-side role called Judge was added on August 19.

Our Notes, released in September 2026, AnimeJapan 2027, Berserk of Gluttony, and the Palworld Official Card Game booster pack Awakened Legend, scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026. A photo spot lets visitors pose with the airport mascot Uzupii, Tokushima Prefecture mascot Sudachi-kun, and Matsushige Town mascot Matsushige Kakaricho.
The full version of Idle Monkey Theorem, developed by Ozymandias, releases on Steam on September 23 at 18:00. The game adapts the infinite monkey theorem into a clicker format where players place monkeys and watch them type toward completing all of Shakespeare's works. Typed characters fill in the plays, and the work builds Inspiration Points for upgrades. The full version adds five modes: Hardcore, Typing, Idle, Roguelite, and Zen.
Latent Entertainment showed Mina and the Story of Kotodama at Osaka Indie Games Summit 2026, held October 3 and 4 at Congres Square Grand Green Osaka. Players use a controller and their voice to summon objects and operate mechanisms. Developer yoshi built the voice recognition engine himself over about half a year. The project follows Deep Space Exploration, a smartphone murder mystery selected for Tokyo Game Show 2025's SELECTED INDIE 80.
Monochrome Echoes - white - is a 2D field exploration RPG from indie developer Thousand Games, and it is the subject of a two-part play report on Game Spark. The game is set in a monochrome fantasy world called the Ruins Archipelago, where players pick one of four parties and explore while managing food, which drains as they walk and is spent on automatic recovery in battle. Combat lets each character act up to three times per turn using skills from their own pool and from equipped weapons and accessories, with an enemy hate value shown per character to guide targeting. The Switch version launched on July 23, 2026 and costs 2,800 yen, while the Steam version launched April 25, 2025. The piece notes a character level cap raised by stone tablets and Bounty Head enemies, job changes unlocked at springs, and item synthesis for weapon upgrades.
Studio BBB released MONOWAVE on September 17, with Phoenixx handling publishing, the two companies said at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Phoenixx president Kazunori Sakamoto said he first saw the 2D puzzle action game at Taipei Game Show and pursued it for a year or two. Studio BBB CEO Lim Gwon-yong said four Phoenixx producers now work on the title.
Sasami Kamone announced on September 26 that they will draw the manga adaptation of Keishi Ayasato's Seijo Seisen -Taizai Yusha to Omoide no Majo- light novel series. The manga will run on the Suiyobi wa Mattari Dash X Comic page of the Nico Nico Seiga website, with no start date given beyond "soon." Ayasato's first novel shipped in June 2025 under Shueisha's Dash X Bunko imprint, with illustrations by Genyaky.
The Digimon franchise announced on Tuesday that Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform will add Ayumu Minato's Digimon Eggs manga as a simulpub title on October 2. The series launches in Shueisha's Saikyo Jump magazine the same day, with Simplified Chinese and Korean versions on the Digimon Web website. A new anime project is planned for next year.
Capcom's Monster Hunter Outlanders will launch for iOS and Android on October 29, with a mainland China version scheduled for 2027. The open-world survival game supports multiplayer and a character-switch system, and adds a new Elder Dragon, Ruger Aidal. Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group is handling development, with franchise composer Tadayoshi Makino returning for the music.

Starbucks Japan and Pokemon announced a collaboration on Thursday, starting with tumblers on September 30. The line includes a Pikachu Honey Cream Latte priced at 690 yen (about US$4.50) and merchandise from 1,500 to 6,600 yen (about US$10 to US$42), among them tumblers, bottles, mugs, drip coffee maker pots, kettles, aprons, and tote bags. No end date was announced.
Monochrome Corp. and Good Smile Company announced Ignisphere, a mixed media franchise, on Friday. Its first title is Dawngazer, an action RPG directed by Takafumi Noma, the director and character designer of Unicorn Overlord, at Ignisphere Studio. Good Smile Company is publishing. It launches for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2028, with Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese support.
Premium Bandai opened preorders for the Pokemon Scale World Miare City Set on September 24 at 1:00 PM. The set is priced at 4,488 yen including tax and is scheduled to ship in January 2027. It contains painted figures of six kinds, counted as 11 figures in all, plus six pieces of soda-flavored gum. The lineup pairs the three starter Pokemon Chikorita, Tepig and Totodile in one set, Mawile with Pignite, Mega Sableye with Absol, and Espurr with Zygarde 10% Forme. The trainers Seika and the detective Matiere each come as their own figure. Sales are by box only, and one box holds every kind. Premium Bandai says preorders may close early if the prepared quantity is reached. A second set, Pokemon Scale World Lumiose City Gai and Emboar and Meowstic (Male Form), opened preorders on September 25 at 1:00 PM for 6,380 yen including tax, also shipping January 2027.
Jotoyo released a new trailer and a playtest advance guide for Monster Fantasy on September 21, 2026, ahead of a playtest that opens September 23 at 0:00 JST. The game combines hunting action against large monsters with a slow-life simulation set in the Kingdom of Eldras, where the player is a hero who has lost their memories and spends time fishing, cooking, and talking with villagers. Four classes are in place for the test: Samurai, Warrior, Mage, and Archer. The trailer shows Mage guarding, Samurai swinging a katana, Warrior using a charged slash, and Archer breaking monster parts. The guide names three bosses: the Squirrel Bear, which spits poison and flash acorns and has a breakable tail; the Beetle Turtle, which is covered in rock and yields horn materials after its head armor breaks; and the Griffin, which is hard to hit until it crashes, with a stronger Flame Griffin appearing at certain times of day.
Innersloth added a new ghost role called the Influencer to Among Us in update v19.0.0, released September 20. A trailer for the role appeared alongside the update. Players killed by an Impostor take on the Influencer role as a ghost, then send up to three images to living Crewmates from a set presented at random, using a special camera near a player to track that player automatically. The images can flag an Impostor's identity, warn that one is nearby, or vouch for a Crewmate under suspicion. Redraws of the image options are limited, so a message that does not land can cause an innocent player to be ejected. The ability works during a blackout and can be used while tasks are in progress. The update also adjusts a Judge sound effect, fixes duplicate login pop-ups, and adds a rewards button in the account menu.
Sony Interactive Entertainment will hold PlayStation Festival on October 24 at Grand Front Osaka North Building 1F Knowledge Plaza, running from 11:00 to 19:00. Attendees can play PS5 titles that appeared at the PlayStation booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 in September. Advance trial reservations opened October 2 for PlayStation Plus subscribers and close October 21 at 23:59, handled first-come, first-served through the event's special site. The reservable titles are Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance from Capcom, Final Fantasy VII Revelation from Square Enix, ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE from Bandai Namco Entertainment, and GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT from Bandai Namco Entertainment. Alliance Arts released the music video for "DEMON'S SHOT (feat. DEMONDICE)" on September 30, the theme song for its drinking survival game PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK. The track went up on services including Apple Music and Spotify the same day. Aiobahn +81 composed and arranged the song, with lyrics and featured vocals by DEMONDICE. Until now the only audio was the April 2026 trailer, where the song sat under dialogue and sound effects. Aiobahn +81 said in a statement that "DEMON'S SHOT" was first meant to be part of the game's soundtrack before he realized it would be released as an original song, adding that he polished it for half a year. The game has passed 400,000 Steam wishlist registrations ahead of a fall/winter 2026 release window on PC. The heroine is the yandere demon Femme Soeur, voiced by Nanahira, with art direction and character design by odyk.
GEO is accepting lottery applications for the Pokemon Card Game MEGA "30th CELEBRATION Card Set (9-type set)." The price is 10,791 yen including tax. Applications run from September 28 at 11:00 to October 1 at 17:59, and entries are taken only through GEO's lottery sale website, with in-store pickup only and some stores excluded. The set holds full-art cards of the first partner Pokemon of the nine regions plus two packs of the 30th CELEBRATION expansion and a card stand. Each applicant may enter once for one set, and individual card sets are not sold. Winners are notified by email on October 14 and must buy between October 16 and October 18. Resale is banned for one year after winning, and GEO refuses future lottery entries to applicants caught listing items on auction sites. Buyers must hold a Ponta card with the store rental membership function linked to their GEO ID and show identification at purchase.
