gummyboy is one half of the Japanese hip-hop unit Mall Boyz, which released its first full-length album, Mall Tape 3, on June 10. His partner Tohji has announced his retirement from artistic activities by 2026.
gummyboy appears in two Yomimono stories, and only one of them centers on his own work. The June 10 release of Mall Tape 3 is the first full-length album from Mall Boyz, the unit gummyboy forms with rapper Tohji. It runs 19 tracks and follows the 2018 EP Mall Tape and the 2023 EP Mall Tape 2. Guest appearances include Elle Teresa and kZm, with production from Chaki Zulu and others.
The same story frames the album against Tohji's announced retirement from artistic activities by 2026. That timing makes Mall Tape 3 a career-summarizing release for the duo, and it is the most concrete fact established about gummyboy's current position: the unit's first album arrives as one of its two members plans to stop.
The second story does not concern Mall Boyz. It covers the final lineup additions to LYRICADE at Shibuya's WWW on October 25, where Worldwide Skippa, yvnlazy, and Ludio bring the bill to 25 acts. The three share the CONCRETE GREEN 12 mixtape, and yvnlazy and Ludio released the collaboration "Totteoki" in January 2026. Tickets are 2,500 yen with a separate two-drink charge.
Across both stories, gummyboy's recorded output is the only settled thread. What happens to Mall Boyz after Tohji's retirement is not addressed in either story.
