Maaya Sakamoto plays the unnamed upperclassman known as Wasu in Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising, the sequel to the Rebellion film. The character looks like Homura, and the film has not given her true name. Tan Ant Games posted a development log for Building Relationships, the romance adventure where single buildings search for a partner on an island. Alex of AploveStudio has opened a Steam store page for AGGRO: Thaumiel Mercenaries, a third-person sci-fi shooter where a five-member squad of Anomalies fights and contains escaped individuals. Netflix announced Thursday that its new series Take Charge of My Heart premieres on the streaming service on October 9. The romantic comedy follows Ho-rang Baek, a third-generation chaebol executive whose artificial heart battery is running out, and Bo-bae Na, a drama writer who gained the ability to generate electricity after being struck by lightning as a child. A teaser poster and trailer are out. The story is based on a web novel that Haebeon serialized on Naver Series, and no official English version of the novel is available.

Studio Pierrot will stream the TV anime Tottemo! Luckyman for free on its official YouTube channel starting September 18, with two episodes every Friday at 6 PM for a limited time. The series ran from April 6, 1994 to March 23, 1995, all 50 episodes, based on Hiroshi Gamou's Weekly Shonen Jump manga. Osamu Nabeshima directed, Yoshio Urasawa handled series composition, and enka singer Aki Yashiro performed the opening and ending themes.
Hiroshi Ikehata, the director of the upcoming Giant Ojō-sama anime, discussed his approach in an interview. The agency said Itō fell unwell a few days ago and was taken to hospital, where he showed symptoms of a hemorrhage and had surgery the same day. His life is not in danger and his postoperative progress is going well. He will focus on rehabilitation with the goal of returning to work.
The Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association announced on September 11 that CEDEC2027, the conference it runs for computer entertainment developers, will take place from Wednesday, July 14 to Friday, July 16, 2027. The physical venue is Pacifico Yokohama North, the same site used for CEDEC2026, and the event will run as a hybrid with online attendance through the official website. Around 200 sessions are planned, matching the volume of previous editions, with speakers drawn from Japan and overseas through public submissions and invitations. Talks span all areas of game development, from the development background of hit titles to know-how for improving work efficiency. Sessions are sorted into seven fields: Engineering, Production, Visual Arts, Business & Produce, Sound, Game Design, and Academic Research. Kadokawa announced on Friday that the second cours of the Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle television anime will premiere on October 13, 2026. Multimodal Art Projection released the music generation AI YuE2 on September 10, 2026. The development team describes it as an open music generation model comparable to Suno 5. YuE2 accepts text and sheet music in ABC notation as input, and generated examples with Japanese vocals are posted on its official site.
