UNDERTALE is 75% off at 245 yen and DELTARUNE is 20% off at 3,184 yen in the Steam Summer Sale 2026, which runs until July 10. The DELTARUNE discount is notable because creator Toby Fox has said he does not intend to discount the game frequently. The sale follows the June 25 addition of Chapter 5, with Chapter 6 targeting a 2027 release.
Toby Fox released Chapter 5 of DELTARUNE on June 25 as a free update for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The chapter sends protagonist Kris and friends into a Japanese-style world filled with blooming flowers. On Steam, the game reached an all-time high of approximately 290,000 concurrent players, more than double the peak of about 130,000 seen when Chapters 3 and 4 launched in June 2025. A soundtrack was also released alongside the chapter, with a note advising players not to look at track titles until they finish the chapter. In a newsletter published on June 24, Fox stated that development of Chapter 6 is progressing smoothly and that it would not be surprising if work on Chapter 7 begins before the end of the year. The UNDERTALE official X account briefly blacked out its name and header, which outlets linked to the Chapter 5 release. Fox commented, "Enjoy this crazy work I thought up 10 years ago. Now back to working on the next chapter."
Fangamer Japan began selling a Dark Sanctuary poster, a Holy Water Cooler keychain, and a piano arrangement vinyl for Deltarune on June 18. The company also unveiled plans for a Rouxls Kaard plush, an Elnina and Lanino plush set, and two plush keychains, with email notifications available for future stock.
During the June 9 Nintendo Direct broadcast, Toby Fox's RPG DELTARUNE received a release date for its fifth chapter. Chapter 5 will launch on June 25 as a free update for the full version of the game across all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, and PC. The trailer shown during the Direct depicted the party exploring a Japanese-style world with torii gates and shrines, accompanied by a Japanese-arranged soundtrack. Enemies wrapped in cherry blossom petals appeared, and a shovel-wielding pot character displayed the message "The enemy has bloomed." A scene showed Lancer hugging Susie and acting spoiled. Separately, Toby Fox published a newsletter on June 10 detailing the development status of Chapter 6. He reported that cutscenes, NPC interactions, field gimmicks like wall climbing and puzzles, and minor enemy bullet patterns are nearly complete. Work is currently focused on the final boss's bullet pattern. Fox said he "can't believe it myself" but noted that at the current pace, some team members may begin work on Chapter 7 before the end of 2026. The newsletter also credited Everdraed for the Chapter 5 trailer video, Carlos "insaneintherain" Eiene for music performance and arrangement, and Temmie for the end art.
Banpresto, a brand of Bandai Spirits, is releasing a prize figure of Rouxls Kaard from the game DELTARUNE as part of its Figurise figure series. The figure is scheduled to begin appearing in Japanese crane game machines from June 9, 2026. It stands approximately 11 centimeters tall with a width of about 18 centimeters, giving it a substantial presence. The figure is designed with a functional pen holder slot, allowing it to hold a pen or have rubber bands placed on its fingers. It is a single-variety prize item.
