Switch 2 Version Of Diablo IV Playable At BlizzCon
A hands-on Switch 2 build running without lag or stuttering puts the console port's performance on the record ahead of the September 16 launch.

Blizzard Entertainment's BlizzCon demo let attendees play the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection, including content from the new season Jailbreak Inheritance. The trial ran without lag or stuttering, and loads were fast. Players took on a dungeon quest called A Journey Through the Past, fighting Belial from Diablo III, then Mephisto and Baal from Diablo II. The Age of Hatred Collection is scheduled for September 16 at 8,400 yen.
The demo build covered the seasonal quest A Journey Through the Past, in which the player passes through a portal and fights three Great Evils drawn from earlier Diablo titles. Belial comes first, on a semicircular stage arranged so anyone who fought that boss in Diablo III will recognize it. A portal then opens to Mephisto, and Baal follows, both from Diablo II. The event version was shortened; the full content is said to have more volume.
Pre-built characters with set skill builds were registered, so attendees could start with any class. On the Sorcerer, face buttons mapped Fire Bolt, Frozen Orb, Familiar, and Teleport, with Deep Freeze and Life Potion on the triggers and shoulder buttons. The skill tree feels a little cramped on the small screen.
