HP Japan announced the HP OmniBook 5 14, a personal laptop aimed at students and young professionals. It runs an Intel Core 5 processor with NPU functionality, carries a 14-inch 2K OLED touch display at up to 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, weighs about 1.16kg, and is 11.7mm at its thinnest point. The machine carries two full-function USB-C ports, a hinge that opens 180 degrees, and a 65W HP USB Mini GaN charger. The FHD IR camera supports Windows Hello facial recognition, and the audio is tuned by Poly Studio with DTS:X Ultra. HP lists the display with DCI-P3 100 percent color gamut and HP Eye Ease.
The chassis is aluminum, with the keyboard finished in the same color as the body. Buyers pick from Smoke Silver, Starlet Blue, Peony Pink, and Dew Green. HP says prices, specifications, and availability are subject to change.
