Tom Cruise and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu visited MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary at YURAKUCHO MUSEUM in Tokyo while promoting their film DIGGER. They toured the Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man areas, viewed The Rumbling exhibit from Attack on Titan The Final Season, and held a roundtable with animator Yoshihisa Hiramatsu, who gave them a new illustration of Cruise's character Digger Rockwell.
Cruise and Iñárritu are in Japan to promote DIGGER, which is in theaters now. At the Jujutsu Kaisen area, Cruise admired the hand-drawn key frames, and Hiramatsu told him digital is more common among young animators but that starting from paper still matters. They moved on to the Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc area, where Hiramatsu said he had seen the film twice. Later, Hiramatsu presented an illustration of Digger Rockwell bearing the message "There is TRUTH within a LIE."
