Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Black Flag RE:Synchro on July 9, 2026, a remake of the 2013 title Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The game is available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store, as well as on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and through the Ubisoft+ subscription service. Within its first hour on Steam, the title reached approximately 100,000 concurrent players, the highest ever recorded for an Assassin's Creed game on the platform. Ubisoft subsidiary Vantage Studios later announced that the remake sold 2 million units on launch day. The remake uses the latest Anvil engine, with improvements to combat, naval battles, stealth, and parkour, and adds new story content centered on Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Despite the strong launch numbers, Steam user reviews initially landed at a "Mixed" rating with about 66% positive ratings, driven by issues such as the inability to select non-English voiceovers at launch and a bug locking cutscenes at 30 fps. Ubisoft has since resolved the voiceover issue and acknowledged the cutscene bug, with a fix in progress. As of July 11, user reviews had recovered to "Mostly Positive" with 73% positive out of over 8,000 reviews.
