The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll with a same-day English dub that began Tuesday, following its October premiere on TV Tokyo and a Thursday slot on AT-X. The series adapts the manga version by Gyomuyomochi rather than Asa Rokushima's original light novels.
Crunchyroll announced in August 2026 that it would stream the anime as part of a six-title slate revealed at AnimagiC in Germany. A same-day English dub followed in October, putting the English track on the same weekly schedule as the Japanese broadcast. Justin Briner leads the cast as Rein, with Hollis Beck as Lily, Lacey Deline as Nina, KyLeigh Zimmerer as Elsie and Rick Robertson as Barrius. The series premiered on TV Tokyo at 24:00 on a Tuesday and on AT-X on the Thursday.
Production sits at P.A. Works, with Shu Honma directing and Yoko Yonaiyama handling series scripts. An August action trailer confirmed the anime adapts the manga version by Gyomuyomochi, which sources describe as significantly different from Asa Rokushima's original light novels. The trailer also added staff including chief animation director Min Ji Yu, monster design and action animation director Noboru Sugimitsu, main animator Kayoko Nabeta, color designer Kazu Doi, art director Tamako Kamiyama and music composer Arisa Okehazama.
The story follows Rein, an enchanter expelled from his guild because all their equipment is already enhanced. He recalls every enchantment he cast on the guild's gear, pours them into his own clothes and dagger, and sets out as an adventurer. The premiere clears that expulsion setup in about four minutes. The comedy comes from the situations around Rein rather than from the joke of an overpowered lead.
