Aniplex released the first promotional video for the anime adaptation of Sumiko Arai's The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All on Friday, along with additional cast and staff credits and a January 8 premiere. CloverWorks animates the series, with Masashi Ishihama directing and Rino Yamazaki handling series composition. Kenjiro Tsuda and Tasuku Hatanaka reprise their roles from the audio drama as Jo and Narita. Yurina Amami joins as Chizuru, Fairouz Ai as Mao, and Maiko Nomura as Kanna. Akari Kito voices Aya Osawa and Mariya Ise voices Mitsuki Koga. The anime airs on NTV's FuraAni programming block at 11:00 p.m. JST, and Crunchyroll streams it as it airs. Kanna Hirayama designs the characters, and Kosuke Noma and Takayuki "Kojiro" Sasaki compose the music. The opening theme is Nirvana's 1991 song "Breed."

Crunchyroll held its annual showcase at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles on July 6, announcing a theatrical film continuation for Solo Leveling and the first character designs for the Ghost of Tsushima Legends anime. The Solo Leveling film, titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, will pick up after Season 2 and is produced by A-1 Pictures with Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, Kakao Piccoma, and Crunchyroll. Ghost of Tsushima Legends is directed by Takanobu Mizuno with HAYATE Inc. overseeing production, scripts by Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi, character designs by Takashi Okazaki, and animation by KAMIKAZE DOUGA. In a surprise segment, Dave Grohl appeared via video message to announce that Nirvana's "Breed" will be the opening theme for The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All, which premieres in early 2027. Other reveals included the Kagurabachi anime's first character design sheet for Chihiro Rokuhira, a trailer for the Here U Are manhwa adaptation, the sci-fi series Fate Rewinder for April 2027, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 for next year, Aoashi Season 2 for October 2026, and several other new series including Dengeki Daisy, Gacha Girls Corps, Magical Buffs, The Vermilion Mask, and Overgeared.

The anime adaptation of Sumiko Arai's manga The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All will premiere in January 2027, as revealed in a teaser trailer unveiled at Anime Expo 2026. CloverWorks is producing the series, with Masashi Ishihama directing. The cast includes Akari Kitō as Aya Ōsawa and Mariya Ise as Mitsuki Koga. Rino Yamazaki handles series composition, and Kanna Hirayama is the character designer. The opening theme song is the 1991 Nirvana track "Breed." Crunchyroll will stream the anime. The manga follows high schooler Aya, who develops a crush on a cool CD shop employee, unaware that the employee is actually her quiet female classmate Mitsuki. Arai began the manga on Twitter in April 2022 before moving to pixiv Comic in April 2023. Kadokawa Shoten publishes the print volumes, with the fourth volume released on February 19. The series ranked second on the 2024 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook for top manga for female readers and second on the 23rd Da Vinci "Book of the Year" list.

Crunchyroll announced during its Anime Expo panel that it will stream Fate Rewinder, Overgeared, The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5, Gacha Girls Corps, Magical Buffs: The Support Caster is Stronger Than He Realized!, The Vermilion Mask, Dengeki Daisy, and Aoashi Season 2. The company also revealed staff for the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime and the Here U Are anime and Solo Leveling: Beyond the System film.
