The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes Game Announced for 2027
NIS America announced The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes during Sony's State of Play livestream on September 3, 2026. The game is a 3D action roguelite based on Daisuke Aizawa's light novel series The Eminence in Shadow. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2027. Developer Aiming said the price is not yet set. The first trailer showed gameplay footage of the character Alpha using sword techniques and a Magic Awakening ability selection system, which randomly changes abilities each run to create unique combat combinations. The trailer also featured Delta and a hooded Shadow. This is the first console-oriented game in the franchise, following the mobile title Master of Garden, which launched in November 2022. An anime film, The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes, is also scheduled for 2027. The light novels began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in May 2018, with Kadokawa publishing physical volumes starting in November 2018.
