Unofficial Smash Bros. Matchmaking Site Smashmate Ends Service October 25
Smashmate, an unofficial web service for finding matches in the Super Smash Bros. series, will end on October 25, 2026. Its operator says the site began in 2014 as a hobby, and that changed work circumstances have cut the time available to run and manage it. The notice also cites increasingly sophisticated AI-driven cyberattacks and the need for rapid fixes. Rated matches for Season 36 close at 23:00 on October 24, and all pages become unviewable from October 26.
