Spriggan Origin Traced to Raiders Warehouse and a Young Artist's Anger
A piece tied to Amazon's September 11-13 Manga Weekend Festival looks at why Spriggan grew past its premise. Original story writer Hiroshi Takashige took the warehouse scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark and asked what if the crates held dangerous relics, which became the organization Arcam and its operatives. Artist Ryoji Minagawa brought his own ideas, pushing politics, the military, and the environment into the story. The Preservation Edition runs eight volumes.
