Silent Hill f, released in September 2025, is a standalone entry in the Silent Hill series, set in a fictional 1960s Japanese mountain village called Ebisugaoka. The game follows protagonist Hinako Fukami as she explores a grotesque town. Its scenario was written by Ryukishi07, the creator of Higurashi When They Cry, a connection that has driven several crossovers and collaborations.
The game has performed well commercially and critically. It sold over 2 million copies worldwide and received a Metascore of 86 on PS5. Konami has supported the title with post-launch content, including a free collaboration costume based on Mio Amakura from Fatal Frame: Crimson Butterfly Remake, released in June 2026. The game also won Best Video Game Trailer at the Golden Trailer Awards in May 2026.
Konami has actively promoted the game through sales and bundles. A collaboration bundle with Higurashi When They Cry Hou launched on Steam in July 2026, featuring a special illustration by kera, who handled character and creature design for Silent Hill f. The game has been discounted multiple times, including a 50% off sale in June and July 2026, and a new low price for Silent Hill 2 was also offered. The merchandise line continues to expand, with a Nendoroid of Hina Mizumi scheduled for March 2027 release.
At CEDEC 2026, Konami general producer Motoi Okamoto detailed the development strategy behind Silent Hill f, revealing that the team is almost entirely new, with no staff from the original series, and that about 80% of the team cannot speak English, relying on machine translation for communication with overseas partners. Okamoto also explained that his personal fandom of Ryukishi07's works, having read over 90% of them, drove the choice of writer.

Konami Digital Entertainment announced on September 9, 2026 that SILENT HILL f and Urban Legend Dissolution Center have entered a collaboration. The centerpiece is a browser-based mini game in which the two protagonists, Hinako Fukami and Azami Fukurai, meet in a strange fog. Hakaba Bunko, the developer of Urban Legend Dissolution Center, produced the game, which is playable on PCs, smartphones, and tablets and supports Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The mini game contains no jump scares and depicts the encounter between the two characters who have each faced supernatural threats in their own games.
The collaboration also includes a commemorative illustration by kera, the illustrator responsible for character and creature design in SILENT HILL f, showing two versions of Hinako facing Azami and center chief Wataru Meguriya. A Steam bundle lets buyers purchase both games at 10 percent off their regular prices. A sale covering SILENT HILL series titles is also running on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Epic Games Store.

At CEDEC 2026, Konami general producer Motoi Okamoto detailed the revival strategy for the Silent Hill series, including the decision to entrust the scenario for Silent Hill f to writer Ryukishi07. Okamoto revealed he is a personal fan who has read over 90% of Ryukishi07's works, and argued that producers should read at least half of a writer's bibliography before commissioning them, both out of respect and to understand their strengths. The lecture also covered the global development pipeline: roughly 80% of the current Silent Hill team cannot speak English, so communication with overseas partners in Poland, Taiwan, and the U.S. relies on machine-translated text via chat and email. Okamoto stated that language ability matters less than the ability to make a good game. The team is almost entirely new, with about half of the members in their 20s and no staff from the original series. Assistant producer Taiki Matsuo noted that while development stages are globally standardized, cultural differences emerged around accessibility features and the timing of release quality assurance. The team implemented a Dyslexic font option, a feature Matsuo said is often dropped in Japan due to cost but treated as a quality requirement overseas.
