Shikiso Utsuzawa's light novel Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! has a television anime dated for January 2027, with cast, director, studio, and music composer on record. Utsuzawa's own role in the production is not stated.
Shikiso Utsuzawa's light novel Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! is moving to television. The adaptation was announced in July 2026, when a website opened with a teaser visual and the main cast and staff. Tsukasa Sakurai directs at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab.
The first announcement put the anime in 2027 and named Masumi Tazawa as Eliane and Taku Yashiro as Nigel. A teaser video released on Saturday in October 2026 narrowed that window to January 2027 and added Kanako Hara as music composer. The core staff and cast carried over between the two announcements.
The two stories differ on one detail: the heroine's name is given as Eliane in the July announcement and as Elian in the October teaser. Both agree Tazawa voices her. Taku Yashiro as Nigel, Sakurai as director, and Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab as the studio are consistent across both.
Nothing beyond the premiere window, cast, and staff is established. No episode count, no additional credits, and no statement from Utsuzawa appear in either story.
