A Breaking Bad pop-up store will run for three days from September 11 to 13 at Livest Plaza in Kichijoji, Tokyo. The space evokes the show's world, including a Los Pollos Hermanos area and Heisenberg spray art. The official apparel collection sells on site, with Los Pollos Hermanos stickers as a visitor bonus. A collaboration menu is also available at THE CHICKENS restaurant in the same building.

Marvel Studios announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that Ghost Rider will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ryan Gosling will star, having lobbied the studio as a longtime fan of the character. Shawn Levy directs a film slated for a 2028 release. The character also appears in the fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, released August 6.

Dave Bautista will take over the role of Kratos in the live-action God of War series on Amazon Prime Video, replacing Ryan Hurst. Marvel Studios has set the US release date for Ghost Rider, starring Ryan Gosling, for July 28, 2028. This completes the release calendar for three MCU films in 2028, joining X-Men (working title) on May 5 and Black Panther 3 on December 15. Shawn Levy directs.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced at Comic-Con International 2026 that Ryan Gosling will star in a new Ghost Rider film, joining the MCU. Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool & Wolverine, will direct. The film is scheduled for a US theatrical release in 2028.

The sci-fi film 'Project Hail Mary', based on Andy Weir's best-selling novel and starring Ryan Gosling, began streaming exclusively on Prime Video on July 3. The film follows Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of his identity or mission, and gradually uncovers his task to prevent Earth's destruction by solving the mystery of the fading sun. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who won an Academy Award for 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse', the screenplay was written by Drew Goddard, nominated for an Oscar for 'The Martian'. Gosling, who also served as a producer, was the primary advocate for the adaptation, having read the manuscript before publication and urged the studio to hire Lord and Miller. The film was released in theaters on March 20 and became available for rental or purchase on Prime Video on May 13. It earned approximately $141 million worldwide in its opening weekend, the biggest opening for a Hollywood film released in 2026 at that time, and its global box office has exceeded 110 billion yen.

The London production of Frank Wildhorn's Death Note the Musical has announced its full cast, including Xander Pang as Light, Colin Ryan as L, Stephanie Zaharis as Misa Amane, and Telly Leung as Ryuk. The show runs from July 30 to September 12 at the Barbican Centre, with a revised script and new songs, and plans for a Broadway transfer.
