Project Hail Mary Begins Streaming on Prime Video July 3

The sci-fi film 'Project Hail Mary', based on Andy Weir's best-selling novel and starring Ryan Gosling, began streaming exclusively on Prime Video on July 3. The film follows Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of his identity or mission, and gradually uncovers his task to prevent Earth's destruction by solving the mystery of the fading sun. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who won an Academy Award for 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse', the screenplay was written by Drew Goddard, nominated for an Oscar for 'The Martian'. Gosling, who also served as a producer, was the primary advocate for the adaptation, having read the manuscript before publication and urged the studio to hire Lord and Miller. The film was released in theaters on March 20 and became available for rental or purchase on Prime Video on May 13. It earned approximately $141 million worldwide in its opening weekend, the biggest opening for a Hollywood film released in 2026 at that time, and its global box office has exceeded 110 billion yen.

Death Note the Musical Announces Full London Cast

The London production of Frank Wildhorn's Death Note the Musical has announced its full cast, including Xander Pang as Light, Colin Ryan as L, Stephanie Zaharis as Misa Amane, and Telly Leung as Ryuk. The show runs from July 30 to September 12 at the Barbican Centre, with a revised script and new songs, and plans for a Broadway transfer.

Tideborne Haven Kickstarter Launches With Pet Inclusion Reward

Big Fish, Little Fish Studio launched a Kickstarter for Tideborne Haven, a life simulation game about restoring a tropical island's environment. The campaign, which began June 3, 2026, seeks £85,000 and has already raised over £21,880. Backers at £100 or more can have their pet added to the game.
