Koei Tecmo Games released "Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14 with Power-Up Kit Complete Edition." The package collects the base game, the Power-Up Kit, past DLC, and new content. Square Enix announced Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United, a remake of the 1995 Super Famicom RPG, during a Nintendo Direct livestream on Wednesday. The remake launches February 16 for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, featuring 3D graphics, voice acting, and newly arranged music.
During the Nintendo Direct streamed on September 9, 2026, Square Enix announced Romancing SaGa 3: Destiny United, a full remake of the 1995 RPG Romancing SaGa 3. The remake is scheduled to launch on February 16, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The announcement trailer showed the game's revamped graphics and introduced several signature series mechanics returning in the remake, including the ability to choose from eight different protagonists, the glimmer system for learning techniques, and combination techniques. Romancing SaGa 3 originally launched for the Super Famicom, and this remake marks the latest in a series of recent SaGa franchise releases, following Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven. The trailer did not reveal additional platforms beyond the two Nintendo consoles, and no pricing information was announced during the Direct. The remake was one of several titles shown during the September 9 Nintendo Direct, which also included announcements for The Apothecary Diaries game adaptation and a new Rockman series title. Further details on Romancing SaGa 3: Destiny United, including its full cast and any additional features, have not yet been disclosed.
Roman Sands RE:Build, the absurdist apocalypse ADV from Arbitrary Metric, the studio behind IGF award winner Paratopic, launches September 17, 2026 on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox. The game was once described as stuck in eternal release-scheduled status, never to ship. The preview covers two realities: a luxury resort where the player works as a memoryless hotel employee, and a crumbling animal research facility. Price is still unannounced.

Streamer LEON representative, active in survival games like Rust, admitted on September 4 that he used illustrations gifted by manga artist Shiromanta in generative AI, apologized, and announced a hiatus from activities. The logo for his Rust event 'DEATH GAME,' held from August 29 to 31, was created by running Shiromanta's 2023 illustration through AI. When Shiromanta first asked about the image, LEON representative said he used it without recognizing it as AI-generated and cited confidentiality in refusing to name the contractor. After streamer Kenki, a DEATH GAME participant, independently confirmed the details with LEON representative, the response changed to acknowledge knowing the image was AI-made. Shiromanta received a written apology and asked that the matter be explained publicly. In a September 3 Twitch stream, Shiromanta said he has no opinion on AI's merits, but described being lied to by a friend as sad and unacceptable. LEON representative's apology acknowledged betraying Shiromanta's trust and said he would take time to reflect.
Developer Roman announced a gameplay trailer, the end of its first public playtest, and an October demo for Salt and Soil: A Frontier Family Sim. The turn-based historical strategy game follows one family across the American frontier from 1609 to 1900, with annual family meetings shaping the story. A PC and Mac release is planned for 2026.
REMOW revealed a new key visual and confirmed the Necromancer Isekai anime will debut on TV and streaming in 2027. Yoshihiro Akase joins the staff as sound director. The cast includes Maaya Uchida, Yuki Yomichi, Sayako Tojo, and Mei Igarashi. Masahiko Komino directs at l-a-unch BOX.

Apple TV has announced a live-action drama adaptation of William Gibson's 1984 cyberpunk novel "Neuromancer." The 10-episode series will begin streaming on January 22, 2027, with the first two episodes dropping on the premiere date and subsequent episodes releasing weekly every Friday through March 19. Callum Turner stars as Case, a washed-up top hacker who is hired alongside Molly, a razor-wielding assassin played by Briana Middleton, to infiltrate a giant corporation. The cast also includes Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, Clémence Poésy, and Joseph Lee. Gibson is an executive producer on the project. The original novel, which won the Hugo Award, Nebula Award, and Philip K. Dick Award, is considered a foundational work of the cyberpunk genre, and its depiction of cyberspace has influenced numerous later sci-fi works.
Amazon is running a 50% points back sale on the Kindle edition of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's manga Romance of the Three Kingdoms. All 42 volumes are available as a bundle for 30,492 yen, with 15,246 points awarded. The promotion runs until July 20. Other Yokoyama historical manga, including Xiang Yu and Liu Bang, Water Margin, and Records of the Grand Historian, are also part of the sale.
AmiAmi has opened pre-orders for a re-release of the Pokémon Romantic Collection 6-Piece BOX, a set of six container-style figures. The August issue of Shueisha's Ribon magazine announced on July 3 that manga authors Nana Haruta and maki will launch a new manga titled Sugarless Romance in the magazine's September issue on August 3. Haruta is credited for the original story, and maki is drawing the manga. Haruta previously ended her Tsubasa to Hotaru manga in 2017. The love comedy centers on first year high school student Aoi Nanase, who is determined to have a wonderful high school romance.
Netflix and CD Projekt Red announced on June 28 that the sequel anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will stream exclusively on Netflix in fall 2026. The 10-episode series is a standalone story set in Night City, described by staff as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. Kai Ikarashi, who worked as a storyboard artist and animator on the first season, directs the sequel in his debut as a director. Returning staff include producer and writer Bartosz Sztybor, lead character designer Ichigo Kanno, and scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka. Studio Trigger animates the series. Four main characters have been revealed: Weak Kingsley, a veteran edgerunner past his prime; D, a netrunner seeking revenge; Roman Carax, a young cinephile; and Talia Yang, a woman from the corporate towers hardened by gang life. A second teaser trailer was released on June 29, featuring an original score by Tsuneo Imahori and the song You Can't Run From Me performed by Rico Nasty. A panel discussion is scheduled for July 4 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
Koei Tecmo announced the Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV with Power-Up Kit Complete Edition, a DLC that expands the 2020 Power-Up Kit with 100 famous sites, poetry, 190 historical events, military intelligence, merit systems, policies, expert mode, and additional scenarios. Japanese details release June 18.
Full-stack engineer Roman Imankulov was contacted on LinkedIn by someone claiming to recruit for a cryptocurrency startup. The recruiter sent a GitHub repository to review. Imankulov used an AI agent to inspect the code, which found a backdoor that would execute remote code on 'npm install'. The recruiter's profile was stolen from a real art journalist, and the repository's commit history was hijacked from another developer.
Production company Corpus Korea confirmed on June 2 that the webtoon One-of-a-Kind Romance will receive a live-action adaptation, premiering in the second half of 2026 on TVING, with additional distribution on Viu in Hong Kong and ABEMA in Japan. The 12-episode series stars Soo-young Park (Red Velvet's Joy) and Hyun-jin Kim.
The second season of the Hell Mode anime adaptation will premiere on July 3. A promotional video previews the opening theme song by Romanha Marshmallow. New cast members include Takahiro Sakurai, Reiji Kawashima, Kiyono Yasuno, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Miyu Tomita. The first season aired in January 2025.

The game places a hotel employee in a time loop where guests repeat the same requests each day while the sun grows larger. Players complete sub-missions to raise guest ranks and unlock tools to repair an elevator, with time advancing each time the player crosses an area.
Seven Seas Entertainment announced six new licenses on Wednesday. The slate includes four manga and two light novels, all scheduled for release between January and April 2027. The manga titles are Pendulum: The Beastmen Omegaverse Saga by Hana Hasumi, Good Night, My Little Bird by RICO SAKURA, The Cat Who Didn't Believe in 'What-ifs' by Oki Eiko, and The Tomorrow I Want to See with Kako: A Time-Loop Romantic Comedy by KNOTS. The light novels are Goetia Shock by Dokuzu Kento with art by Nekosuke Ookuma, and Wandmaker of the Ruined World by Hagane Kurodome with art by Kayahara. Pendulum and Good Night, My Little Bird will appear under the publisher's mature-rated BL label. Pendulum is a companion story to Remnant: The Beastmen Omegaverse Saga, already available from Seven Seas. The Cat Who Didn't Believe in 'What-ifs' began as a popular webcomic and will receive its first English print edition. Goetia Shock will be a digital-only release on the Airship imprint. The Tomorrow I Want to See with Kako carries a release date of January 2027 in the press release and March 2027 on social media. Pricing for the print volumes ranges from $15.99 to $16.99 in the United States.
