Konami Unveils Rhapsody in Scarlet, a 1920s New York Action Game

Konami announced Rhapsody in Scarlet, a new action game set in 1920s New York, during Sony's State of Play livestream on September 3. The story follows Ellie Myers, a young magus who arrives in New York to pursue a career as a jazz singer and is caught up in an incident tied to a mysterious mafia organization. She meets Ilya, leader of the Seekers, an elite organization of magi, and the two investigate the mafia's schemes while uncovering a battle that threatens the balance of the world. Trailer footage showed Ellie using electricity, fire, and water magic alongside monster companions in fights against giant summon beasts across a stylish metropolis. The game is being developed with Unreal Engine. Cherami Leigh voices Ellie Myers and Hannah Grace voices Ilya Jones. SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS perform the theme song "Cool/Hot feat. Emi Meyer." Konami plans to release the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Some coverage described the game as in development for PS5, and Konami promised further details during the State of Play Japan broadcast and its KONAMI PRESS START event on September 4.

Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure Gets Switch 2, PS5 Port

Hamster Corporation released Nippon Ichi Software's Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 on July 9 as part of its Console Archives Series. The 1998 tactical RPG, originally released in Japan and North America, now arrives on modern platforms with quality of life features. The game has been available in compilations, but this is a standalone release.

Crab Rhapsody Playtest Lets Players Form Crab Bands and Fight AI Music Monopoly

RIFF DEV is developing the roguelike shooter Crab Rhapsody, where players control a crab fighting the AI 'Crab-GPT' over music copyrights. Band members provide support and change the in-game BGM in real time. Weapons are musical instruments like a flute spear and trumpet shotgun. A playtest is available on Steam since July 2.

Racing Miku 15th Anniversary Illustration Becomes 1/7 Scale Figure

Good Smile Racing announced a 1/7 scale figure of Racing Miku based on Kei Mochizuki's 15th anniversary illustration "Rhapsody." The figure features a pure white dress with colorful ribbons representing past designs. Pre-orders are open at 30,000 yen, with release scheduled for October 2027.
