PLAMATEA

PLAMATEA is a line of movable plastic model kits produced by Good Smile Company and Max Factory. The line has recently expanded beyond mecha into character figures, with kits for Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Shikinami from the Rebuild of Evangelion films, both standing approximately 170mm tall and scheduled for December 2026 at 7,700 yen each. These kits feature movable joints, pre-painted parts, and color-separated molding, plus a base with a movable support arm that can hold weapons from the separately sold MODEROID Evangelion Unit-01 kit. Prototype production is by SELECT D.

The line also includes character models from the Cutie Honey Nova project. Black Honey, a mysterious warrior, was announced in June 2026, standing 170mm tall with multiple weapons and expression parts, scheduled for December 2026 at 8,800 yen. This kit contrasts with the previously released standard Cutie Honey. The Black Honey kit took first place in Amazon Japan's Hobby Bestseller Ranking as of June 18, 2026, indicating strong pre-order demand.

PLAMATEA continues to add new characters. Arika Yumemiya from My-Otome HiME is scheduled for April 2027, an approximately 140mm articulated model with interchangeable hands, flared skirt parts, and movable hair via ball joints. It includes decals for the Garderobe Academy uniform, apron, and knee-high socks, plus optional broom and bag parts. The line's commercial performance is notable: the MX-chan kit, based on an original character by illustrator Toridamono, ranked second in Amazon hobby new arrivals, with MODEROID Diapolon at nine, while Hot Wheels die-cast cars dominated the top ten.
