Pumpkin Miso Studio has put a demo of Night Portable on Steam. The survival horror adventure is set in a 2000s used game shop, where the protagonist takes a suspicious high-paying night shift from midnight to 6 AM. A supernatural entity roams the store, and the player balances work and survival by watching brightness and footsteps. A retro handheld console shows the remaining grace period; contact with the entity cracks the screen.

Pumpkin Miso Studio has opened the Steam store page for 'Night Portable', a night-shift survival horror game set in a used game shop from the 2000s. The studio is also recruiting playtest participants for the Windows version. Players take on the role of a night-shift worker from midnight to 6 a.m., completing tasks such as cleaning and stocking shelves while avoiding a mysterious 'something' that roams the store. During the shift, players can play three types of retro 2D handheld games, with rewards converting into items like batteries and radios for use in the survival portion. The player chooses whether to claim a reward upon reaching a required score or push for a larger payoff. The game's anomalies continue to move even while the player is focused on the handheld games, adding a layer of tension. A side-scrolling adventure segment lets players trace the past connected to the store and its anomalies. The Steam page is live, and a free demo is scheduled for release around 6:20 p.m. on September 5.
