Nicolas Cage appears in the Amazon MGM Studios film Madden, which begins streaming on Prime Video on November 18, and as a playable operator in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The unreleased Cage film Fortitude is the subject of a $105 million lawsuit against Netflix.
Three stories from mid-2026 through late 2026 place Nicolas Cage in three different sectors at once: a streaming film, a game crossover, and a lawsuit over a stolen master copy. The most recent story, from October, has Amazon MGM Studios streaming Madden on Prime Video from November 18. Cage plays John Madden in the film, with Christian Bale as Al Davis, and David O. Russell directing and writing. The cast also includes Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, John Mulaney, and Shane Gillis. The story follows Madden's run with the Oakland Raiders and the creation of the Madden NFL video game.
Before that, in June, Activision announced Cage as a new operator in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, arriving in the Season 04 Reloaded update on June 26. He is the face of the Summer of Action event and is obtained through a premium event pass track that includes a skin, an emote, and a finishing move. The update also adds a Japanese-style zombie map, a new multiplayer map, and a remastered map.
Between those, in August, the producer of the unreleased Cage film Fortitude sued Netflix for at least $105 million. A storage drive containing the master copy was stolen from a Netflix office in Los Angeles. The suit claims the film's market value was destroyed because piracy risk now scares off distributors.
