Nana Mikoshiba's The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World has moved through three formats at once, and the stories trace how each one now stands. Kodansha lists the tenth volume of the light novels for December 2, with a blurb that teases a story finale. The ninth volume shipped on June 2. Riko Korie illustrates the novels.
The manga side has already cycled through a full run. Norihito Sasaki's adaptation ended in January 2024, and a sequel manga launched on May 27. The anime moved in the same window: the second season premiered on October 8 and is ongoing, after the first season premiered in January 2023.
Season 2 brought production changes. Zero-G animates the series, replacing Cloud Hearts, which handled the first season. Mariko Kawamoto takes over as character designer from Makoto Shimojima. Masahiro Takata returns to direct, write, and oversee scripts, and serve as sound director. Junya Enoki, Iori Saeki, and Akira Sekine return as Ray White, Amelia Ros, and Ariane Olgren. Miyu Kubota voices Elisa Griffith, replacing Nana Harumura, who retired from voice acting in January due to health reasons. Sizuk performs the opening theme "Diamond Dust" and Maaya Uchida performs the ending theme "Compression:[". Crunchyroll streams the anime as it airs.
