At a thank-you event for the live-action 'Moana' at United Cinemas Toyosu on August 11, TSUZUMI of ME:I performed a live rendition of 'How Far I'll Go' with Ema Kurata, who voiced Baby Moana in the Japanese dub. Six other ME:I members attended to show support. TSUZUMI voiced Moana in the film.
Disney released a clip from the live-action Moana film featuring the giant crab Tamatoa performing the song Shiny. In the Japanese dub, ROLLY reprises the role from the animated version. The film opened in Japan on July 31, drawing 256,644 viewers and earning 370 million yen in its first three days.
At the musical premiere of the live-action Moana film in Tokyo on July 29, ME:I member TSUZUMI, who voices the title character in the Japanese dub, was surprised on stage by her groupmate MOMONA. MOMONA, who voiced Nani in last year's Lilo & Stitch remake, appeared to support TSUZUMI, who broke down crying. TSUZUMI said MOMONA had encouraged her during voice recording.
