Mie Sonozaki plays Pamela Voorhees in the Japanese dub of Crystal Lake, now streaming on U-NEXT, and voices Momo's worrywart mother in the new Fairy Princess Minky Momo OVA.
Mie Sonozaki's recent roles in Yomimono's coverage are both in anime-adjacent voice work: one in a Japanese dub of a live-action horror series, the other in a new Minky Momo OVA. The most recent is Crystal Lake / Mother of the Killer, the Friday the 13th prequel drama that started streaming on U-NEXT on October 15. Sonozaki voices Pamela Voorhees in the Japanese dub. Fairouz Ai plays the boy Jason, Konatsu Kato plays Grace, and Daisuke Namikawa joins the dub as an important character in the second half. Comedy duo Nanamagari voice the mysterious men in Episode 1.
Earlier, on August 28, the official website for the new Fairy Princess Minky Momo OVA announced four more cast members, including Sonozaki as Momo's worrywart mother. Show Hayami plays the King of Diginarsa, Kikuko Inoue plays the Queen, and Kazuyuki Okitsu plays Momo's father. The OVA opens in Japanese theaters on November 13.
The two stories establish Sonozaki in mother roles: Pamela Voorhees in the Crystal Lake dub and Momo's mother in the Minky Momo OVA. Neither story gives her role size or billing beyond those parts. Crystal Lake is already streaming, while the Minky Momo OVA has a November 13 theatrical opening.
