MF Ghost merchandise is rolling out through collectibles and tie-ins. Hobby Japan is taking orders for two 1/64 Toyota 86 GT die-cast miniatures modeled on Kanata's car, and the season one anime streamed free on Anime Times for a limited window in August.
MF Ghost's commercial activity is running through licensed goods rather than production news. In June, a Zippo lighter engraved with a serial number and limited to 100 units went up for pre-order at CAMSHOP for 16,500 yen, with a heavy mirror finish and a laser-engraved portrait of protagonist Kanata Livington. In October, Hobby Japan opened orders on two 1/64 die-cast Toyota 86 GT (ZN6) miniatures modeled on the car Katagiri Kanata drives: the Odawara Pikes Peak spec and the Ashinoko GT spec, the second carrying gold-outlined 86 decals and its own wheels. Both are priced at 4,290 yen with tax and planned for release in May 2027 or later through Post Hobby and model retailers.
The two minicars split the same chassis by race spec, so collectors are being asked to buy the car twice at the same price, not choose between variants. That is the shape of the current merchandise line: small, spec-specific items aimed at people already following the series closely.
The anime side stayed visible through streaming. The official Anime Times YouTube channel began free streaming of the Initial D anime series on August 10, available until August 23, and the lineup included MF Ghost Season 1 alongside all episodes of the five Initial D TV series from 1998 to 2014, the movie version, and the 2016 theatrical film. That pairing put MF Ghost in front of the same audience as its predecessor for a two-week window.
