Mercedes and the Waning Moon Anime Reveals Cast, Staff, January 2027 Debut
Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures revealed the television format, first promotional video, teaser visual, main cast and staff, and the January 2027 debut for the anime adaptation of Fire head's Mercedes and the Waning Moon light novel series on Wednesday. Anna Nagase stars as the titular Mercedes Grunewald. Kunihisa Sugishima directs the anime at studio Teddy. Jun Kumagai handles series composition, Nami Shoyama designs the characters, and R.O.N and Shuhei Mutsuki compose the music. The story follows Mercedes, a reincarnated vampire child who takes up dungeon crawling to support her family after being disowned. J-Novel Club publishes the novel series in English digitally. Fire head launched the series on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2018. TO Books began publishing the novels with illustrations by KeG in 2021. A manga adaptation by Pochi Edoya launched in 2021 on TO Books' Corona EX website.
