Megumi Hayashibara is attached to three separate projects: she narrates in-film footage in Bayside Shakedown N.E.W., voices Team Rocket in a Pokemon board game commercial, and is connected to the Minky Momo franchise ahead of its new OVA.
Megumi Hayashibara's recent credits run across three franchises with little overlap. In September, the official X account for Bayside Shakedown N.E.W.: Race Through the Metropolis! announced on the film's opening day that she narrates the in-film footage Seven Bear: The Movie. The same announcement added Takahiro Yamamoto, a longtime fan of the series known for impressions of star Yuji Oda, in a scene with Oda and an undisclosed role. Bayside Shakedown N.E.W. brings back producer Chihiro Kameyama, screenwriter Ryoichi Kimizuka, and director Katsuyuki Motohiro behind Oda.
In October, The Pokemon Company named Hayashibara as one of the voices in the TV commercial for its board game "Are You Perhaps Team Rocket?", set for release on November 12 at 2,200 yen. She appears with Shin-ichiro Miki and Inuko Inuyama, the Team Rocket voices from the Pokemon anime. The game supports 4 to 6 players, is aimed at ages 10 and up, runs 30 minutes or more, and is co-developed by YOKA Games.
The Minky Momo connection is the oldest of the three. Ahead of the November 13 release of the new OVA Magical Princess Minky Momo: Toward the Yearning Dream - Duet of Sincerity, the KAC official YouTube channel began streaming both TV seasons free for a limited time from August 10, with Season 1 airing in five weekly blocks through September 14. The stories do not specify Hayashibara's role in the new OVA.
