McDonald's Japan Sets USJ All Stars Happy Meal For October 16

McDonald's Japan will release the Happy Meal "USJ All Stars," a collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, starting October 16, 2026 at locations nationwide except some stores, according to Dengeki Hobby Web. The run covers about four weeks and is split into three waves. Wave 1 runs October 16 to October 22 with five toys: Minion Havoc Ride Wobble Car, Hello Kitty's Cupcake Dream Small Accessory Case, Playing with Curious George, Jaws Tooth Mark Stamp, and Back to the Future Double Door Car. Wave 2 runs October 23 to October 29 with Minion Mini Halloween Bucket, Minion Vampire Keychain, Curious George Pumpkin Peekaboo, Jurassic World Surprise Box, and Kuromi Live Wristband. Wave 3 starts October 30, when customers receive one of the 10 toys from the earlier waves at random. McDonald's Japan announced the lineup after teasing it on X on October 8 with an image showing a sphere, letters starting with U and ending with L, and a 25th mark.

McDonald's Japan Taps Ayumi Hamasaki for Golden Campaign

McDonald's Japan launched the "Golden Campaign" with Ayumi Hamasaki on October 2, a collaboration running through December 31 that centers on a one-night-only live taping called "Golden Live," limited to 200 attendees. Entry is offered through the McDonald's official app rewards program, My McDonald's Rewards. The taping is scheduled for November 21 at 19:30 somewhere in Tokyo. A live set image was published with the announcement. The October 2 start date coincides with Hamasaki's birthday. Separately, four collaboration goods are being released in sequence: a shirt, a long towel, a plate set of two, and a mug, each won by lottery through reward points. A special campaign website went live the same day. Hamasaki appears in a McDonald's uniform for the collaboration, according to KAI-YOU.
