The TV anime Mezameza has released its main PV and key visual ahead of an October 4 premiere on TOKYO MX and other channels. Kana Ueda joins as Shoko and Saori Onishi as Mei. Makoto Furukawa, Yoshi Inagaki, Anna Nagase, and Haruka Shiraishi lead the cast. The opening theme is UNSTOPPABLE by FLOW, whose single with Sorrow ships October 28.
TAMASHII NATIONS has launched ABSOLUTE ACT, a new brand focused on action posing, with the Strike Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny as its first release. The 185mm figure uses the ABSOLUTE ACTION SYSTEM, an articulation frame in the neck, shoulders, and waist. It is priced at 16,500 yen including tax and releases in March 2027. Pre-orders are open at Amazon, Amiami, Sofmap, Bic Camera, and Yodobashi Camera.
T-SPARK has previewed TOYRISE items to be announced at Tokyo Toy Show 2026, held from August 27 to August 30 at Tokyo Big Sight. The previews cover four franchises: Mashin Hero Wataru, Mado King Granzort, Absolute无敌 Raijin-Oh, and Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion. A Shinkalion with design concept by Shoji Kawamori was teased via silhouette on August 25 and appears as a gray prototype at the show. The T-SPARK official X account revealed image visuals for all four lines on August 26, with Wataru and Granzort shown together at the T-SPARK booth. The event's business days, August 27 and 28, are for trade visitors only; the general public can attend on August 29 and 30 with advance tickets at 2,000 yen or same-day tickets at 2,200 yen. Dengeki Hobby Web's breaking reports from the Takara Tomy booth confirmed the Kawamori Shinkalion prototype, plus items from Raijin-Oh, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Wataru, and Granzort. Other Takara Tomy displays included a Captain Tsubasa: Tatakae Dream Team and ZOIDS collaboration, SYNEGENEX Evangelion Prime Unit-02, and Transformers-related items such as Adamas Machina Magna Regulus.
Bandai Spirits opened reservations on August 27, 2026 for several new items in its Tamashii Nations figure lines, including two METAL ROBOT Soul figures from the Gundam x hololive production collaboration. The METAL ROBOT Soul <SIDE MS> Nu Gundam [Sakura Miko Ver.] is priced at 24,200 yen, and the Sazabi [Hoshimachi Suisei Ver.] at 28,600 yen, both shipping in January 2027. Reservations for the Nu Gundam began at 16:00 and for the Sazabi at 17:00 on August 27. The figures feature special coloring based on the VTubers' image colors, dedicated bases, and collaboration markings. The company also opened reservations for the METAL STRUCTURE Kaitai Shouki RX-178 Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Specification), a 310mm figure priced at 137,500 yen, also shipping in January 2027. The Kaitai Shouki figure includes LED gimmicks and three armor deployment forms. These items were displayed at the Bandai / BANDAI SPIRITS booth at TOKYO TOY SHOW 2026, alongside other collaboration figures including RG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.2.0 [HOLOLIVE PRODUCTION Ver.] and RG Crossbone Gundam X1 [Houshou Marine Ver.].
Bandai Spirits is launching a new Gundam figure brand called ABSOLUTE ACT, built around the ABSOLUTE ACTION SYSTEM for articulation. The first entry is the Strike Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, which received its world first display at TOKYO Toy Show 2026, running from August 27 to August 30, 2026. The approximately 185mm tall ABS/PVC figure features movable mechanisms in the neck, shoulders, and waist, plus a waist rail mechanism and shoulder pull-out mechanism for dynamic posing. It includes a high-energy beam rifle, two beam sabers, a connected saber handle, two beam shields, interchangeable wrist parts, and a base with a bendable support rod. Reservations begin August 27, 2026, at general retail stores, with release scheduled for March 2027 at 16,500 yen including tax. TOKYO Toy Show 2026's first two days are trade-only, with public access on August 29 and 30. The show also featured other Gundam items at the Bandai Spirits booth, including Gundam Miximize Gundam Zero and HG 1/144 Gundam Zero.
CloverWorks announced a regional tour of its POP UP SHOP 2026 event, starting January 16 in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, followed by Nagoya in February and Kochi in March. The pop-up shops will sell merchandise for series including My Dress-Up Darling, Wind Breaker, Bocchi the Rock!, Spy × Family, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and others. Limited quantities of past release goods and books will also be available. Each venue will display reproduction artwork and production materials, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the studio's animation process. The tour begins at Ebetsu Tsutaya Books (January 16 to February 4), moves to TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Noritake in Nagoya (February 13 to March 2), and ends at Kochi Tsutaya Books (March 27 to April 13). Arika announced on May 27 that TETRIS THE GRAND MASTER 4 -ABSOLUTE EYE- will release on Nintendo Switch on June 4, 2026, priced at 2,800 yen. The game is the latest entry in the TGM series, which began in arcades in 1998. A Steam version launched in April 2025, and the Switch port adjusts several features for console play. Modes include MARATHON for high-score chasing, NORMAL for speed-clearing, ASUKA with a rewind function for intermediate players, MASTER for experts facing maximum-speed drops, KONOHA which unlocks illustrations on clearing lines, and SHIRANUI for CPU battles. The Switch version changes difficulty in MASTER and SHIRANUI, renames some titles, removes SHIRANUI's CPU level 0 due to AI training policy compliance, caps replay save data at about 16 MB (roughly hundreds of replays), and limits USB keyboard connections to one. Alongside the Switch release, the Steam version's price drops to 2,800 yen, a 1,100 yen reduction.
