The third music video in the short anime series Running Girl was released on YouTube on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 16:00. Titled Luna, it is set on Santa Monica Beach in Los Angeles and follows a 17-year-old American high school student who runs out into the city when she feels stifled. The music is a cover of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want To Have Fun.
Anime News Network's weekly release roundup for August 30 to September 5 lists two anime Blu-ray releases and dozens of print and digital manga volumes arriving September 1. Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc leads the anime slate at US$74.98, alongside DanMachi's Arrow of the Orion film at US$39.98 from Sentai Filmworks.
Publisher Imperfect Games announced on July 13 that the action RPG Lunarium Hoshi no Tabi, developed by Lunarium Game Studio, will release on July 29 for PC via Steam. The single-player game features cooperative combat between knight Ava and Star User Rune, with challenging enemy encounters, a skill tree, and Sigils equipment.
Team BONA's emotional explosion adventure game Lunadan: Lunatic Dungeon, set for Steam early access in December, focuses on the feelings of characters left behind when the player makes party choices. The demo shows a dungeon system where only three of four party members can enter, and unchosen characters react with self-reproach and flashbacks.
Kyoto Animation's upcoming television anime Sparks of Tomorrow will feature opening and ending theme songs by Luna Goami and Ginger Root, respectively, with both tracks set for global digital release in July 2026. The opening theme "Eureka Evrika," performed by Luna Goami, will be released on July 6, one day after the series premiere on July 5. The ending theme "Soarin'," by Ginger Root, will follow on July 13. The series is set in an alternate-history early 20th-century Kyoto where steam power dominates, following a boy fascinated by electricity and a girl carrying her late mother's memory. "Eureka Evrika" was composed by Hitomi Koto, who also handles the series' soundtrack, with lyrics written by Goami. Goami stated she was pregnant during production, which she said added emotional depth to the song's themes of life and rebirth. Ginger Root, the solo project of Cameron Lew, wrote, composed, and arranged "Soarin'" entirely himself. Lew described the project as a dream opportunity as a longtime anime fan. Sparks of Tomorrow will air in Japan and stream globally on Netflix.
Kwalee Labs, the developer of the well-received sci-fi FPS 'Luna Abyss', has laid off all staff and closed its doors just one month after the game's launch. CEO Hollie Emery announced the closure on LinkedIn, stating the decision was 'completely outside of our control.' The game had earned a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam.
Automaton went hands-on with Descent Of Lunaris at BitSummit PUNCH, a dungeon exploration RPG from developer Unison Games that blends Wizardry and Shin Megami Tensei influences with a near-future lunar base setting. The game features grid-based exploration, turn-based combat, a sanity mechanic, and two distinct battle systems. A Steam demo is available now, with the full version planned to support Japanese.
