MLMEDIA has launched early access for Rollout Inline, an aggressive inline skating game built by a solo developer who skates the sport. The simcade mixes simulation and arcade handling, with grinds, cess slides, spins, flips, air grabs, toe and heel rolls, and handplants. Three maps are playable at launch, with challenges that level maps and unlock clothing. It is on Steam for PC at 2,350 yen, and developer Michel warns players may hit bugs and crashes.

Ryosuke Asakura launched a new manga, Evangeline Puts on Shoes (Evangeline wa Kutsu o Haku), on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ on Wednesday. The story follows Evangeline, a popular high school student and actress whose pain only Kotaro, a plain aspiring shoemaker, notices. Asakura's prior works include Anastacia no Ikita 9-kakan, Shikizaki Shimai wa Abakaretai, and Val x Love, which ran from December 2015 to March 2023.

Bushiroad opened the Steam store page for the digital trading card game Weiß Schwarz Online on September 15, 2026, and started taking wishlist registrations. The game is developed by Furyu and Lancarse and is scheduled for release in spring 2027 on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. It ships in two versions with different included titles. Indie developer Bakuebo released MAINLINE on Steam on September 14, 2026. The game casts the player as caffeine injected into the human body, with a four-second survival window inside the blood vessels that is restored by defeating enemies. Speed rises with each kill. Clearing a stage grants one of three upgrades, carried forward across six chapters that run from the peripheral veins to the brain. EX1, EX2, and an endless stage with Steam rankings are also included.

Kano Naruse held a release event for her third DVD, Peach Line, at Sofmap Akiba Amusement Hall. The disc runs 110 minutes, distributed by Spice Visual, and covers a shoot in Kujukuri, Chiba Prefecture. Scenes include a black bunny costume, an orange bikini, a competitive swimsuit, Pilates, and a blue yukata. Naruse said she proposed several of the ideas herself.

GungHo Online Entertainment announced on September 14, 2026 that it will release the co-op shooter B.L.U.E. NOVA on PC via Steam within 2027. The game is free-to-play with in-game purchases and is a third-person PvE bullet-hell shooter that supports single-player and online co-op for up to 30 players. The setting is the planet Deval, which humanity is developing as a new home after a superflare threatens Earth in the year 2200. The development control AI EVE goes out of control, and machine weapons rebel. Players join the USF, or New World Union Special Forces, as mercenaries called Heroes and fight the machine army Singula. The main mode is Tower Raid, where up to 30 players destroy the Master Tower at the center of the battlefield. Entering a ring with allies forms a state called R.I.N.G., which lifts reload limits and activates special moves. Six-player Boss Raids and time-limited Challenges are also included.

G.O.P. Co., Ltd. began accepting pre-registrations and closed beta test participants for the PC MMORPG Icarus Online on Thursday, September 10, 2026, ahead of a service launch planned within 2026. The game ran in Japan from 2015 to 2022 and continued overseas. The revived Japanese service is based on the global version, with revamped fellows, dungeons, quests, rewards, equipment growth, and a reorganized enhancement stone system.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the 'Genesis Maidens' expansion DLC for Echoes of Aincrad during Sony's State of Play stream on September 3. The DLC launches this winter. It adds a completely new side story set on Floors 1 and 2 of Aincrad, a storyline the sources describe as not depicted in the original novels or anime. Mito, the character original to the Sword Art Online: Progressive films, joins as a new ally with combination and support skills. The expansion also introduces the Curved Sword weapon type, new quest areas, and a 'Sewing' armor enhancement system that lets players attach emblem mods to armor, including a crest that raises defense and reduces damage. Echoes of Aincrad launched in Japan on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 9, and on PC via Steam on July 10, with the Western release following on all platforms the same day. Spike Chunsoft released 'Cities: Skylines Remastered Japan Special Edition' for PS5 on September 3. The publisher then announced that upgrades from the physical 'Cities: Skylines PlayStation 4 Edition' to the downloadable remaster are currently not supported, contradicting earlier notices. The upgrade had been promised for 110 yen. After checking with Paradox Interactive, Spike Chunsoft apologized and said it will keep requesting support. Aniplex has released HUNDRED LINE: Last Defense Academy for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. In an interview with Automaton, Tookyo Games' Akihiro Tookyo explains how he shaped the SRPG battle system. He designed it as the inverse of Fire Emblem: characters who die are revived in the infirmary, so the game rewards sacrificing them. GungHo Online Entertainment announced a capital and business alliance with Sony Music Entertainment Japan. SME will acquire 12,006,500 GungHo shares from SON Financial LLC for about 28.6 billion yen (roughly US$179 million) in an off-market transaction. Pending regulatory approval, SME becomes GungHo's largest shareholder and an affiliated company. Prime 1 Studio has opened orders for a pair of 1/5 scale statues based on Hiroshi Hiroyama's Blu-ray BOX illustration from 'Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya'. The figures, Illyasviel von Einzbern and Miyu Edelfelt, belong to the Concept Master Line series and reproduce the slipcase art of the first TV season's Blu-ray BOX. Each statue stands at 35cm and includes a special base with star-flower effects from the transformation sequence. The standard versions are priced at 85,690 yen, while DX and DX bonus versions add interchangeable head parts and are priced at 94,490 yen. The DX bonus versions are sold exclusively at Prime 1 Studio's online store in Japan. Orders are accepted from August 26 to October 26, 2026, with release scheduled between January and April 2028. The statues are made of polystone and weigh approximately 1.75kg for Illya and 1.5kg for Miyu in their standard versions. The two figures are designed to be displayed together, representing the front and back of the slipcase and the bond between the characters.

Hypergryph announced on August 26 that it will run a limited-time Pioneer Test for the Steam version of Arknights: Endfield in September, ahead of the game's official Steam release. Participant recruitment began the same day and runs until 14:00 JST on September 10. Applicants must fill out a roughly three-minute questionnaire, and selected participants will be notified by email. During the test, logging into the Steam version for a cumulative five days will earn rewards redeemable after the official launch: Red Crystal x180, Folded Gold Ticket x16,000, and Beginner Recognition Media x15. The Steam version shares the same game version, account data, and progress as other platforms, so no data will be deleted. In-game purchases will be available during the test. Hypergryph noted that Steam client quality is still being adjusted and that bugs or unstable online services may occur; feedback from the test will guide improvements. The game, a 3D real-time strategy RPG set on the satellite Talos-II, is currently free-to-play on PC via the official website and Epic Games Store, PS5, iOS, and Android.

The dragon girl raising roguelite DRAPLINE will leave early access and launch its full version on Steam on September 24, 2026. Publisher Vaka announced the release on August 26 alongside a soundtrack containing over 30 tracks composed by developer Kanao. The game, which entered early access in June 2025, carries a 96% positive rating across more than 1,700 Steam user reviews, an Overwhelmingly Positive status, and has sold over 50,000 copies. The full version adds a new mode called DRAGON'S DISCIPLINE, which is unlocked after playing the existing DAYS OF TORNADO mode to a certain point. The new mode leads to the game's true ending and includes 25 new endings, each with its own illustration, that branch based on how the player raised the dragon girl. DRAGON'S DISCIPLINE is described as being so substantial that DAYS OF TORNADO appears to be merely the first half of the overall game. The price rises from 1,200 yen to 1,680 yen at launch, with a 20% off sale running until August 31. The game will also appear at Tokyo Game Show 2026 at the Vaka booth.

Paradox Interactive announced LEGO Skylines during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 digital event on August 26, 2026. The city-building game is developed by Iceflake Studios, the studio that took over development of Cities: Skylines II from Colossal Order. Players place LEGO block characters, buildings, and flora and fauna to build their own cities at a relaxed pace, from a grand metropolis to fine details. The announcement trailer showed LEGO-built cities with police and firefighters active in the scenes, and events such as fires are likely to occur. LEGO Skylines is planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A release date has not been set. The game's connection to Cities: Skylines is notable because Iceflake Studios currently works on Cities: Skylines II, which has led to speculation that LEGO Skylines could be a LEGO version of the established city-builder series.

Good Smile Company is accepting reservations for the MODEROID Mini Gattai Henshin Getter 1, an assembly model kit from Getter Robo that lets the three Getter Machines, Eagle Go, Jaguar Go, and Bear Go, fully combine into Getter 1. The kit uses molded colors, pre-painted parts, and stickers to reproduce a color scheme close to the anime image. It features a simple transformation mechanism with no leftover parts or part swapping, and includes two Getter Tomahawk weapon parts. EXNOA announced on August 20, 2026 that the puzzle RPG Touken Ranbu Pazu Giri will be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to September 21 at Makuhari Messe. The game will appear at the DMM GAMES booth in Hall 3, which the company says is its largest exhibition scale ever. Visitors can try the game in a hands-on trial corner before its release. Those who show staff the trial experience or a pre-registration screen receive a sticker randomly distributed from seven types, and those who show the pre-registration screen also get a To-gaki balloon. Uchiwa fans will be distributed to booth visitors. At Google Cloud Next Tokyo 26, Square Enix programmer Takatomo Sakuma detailed the Gemini implementation behind Chatty Slime, the AI adventure companion in Dragon Quest X Online. GungHo Online Entertainment announced on August 13, 2026 that Ragnarok: Adventures, an auto-battle RPG in the Ragnarok Online series, will launch in Japan. The game is scheduled to begin service in 2026 on iOS and Android through the App Store and Google Play, with a free-to-play model and optional paid items. Pre-registration opened the same day via the App Store, Google Play, or by following the official X account. The title has already been released overseas under names such as Ragnarok Idle Adventure Plus. GRYPHLINE announced on August 13, 2026 that Arknights: Endfield, the 3D real-time strategy action RPG developed by Hypergryph, will be released on Steam. The game is set on the moon Talos-II, where players take on the role of the Administrator of Endfield Industries, exploring and developing the frontier alongside operators. Unlike the original Arknights, which was a 2D tower defense game, Endfield is a 3D real-time strategy RPG featuring fast-paced combat with up to four-person squads and an automated production line building system. To mark the Steam version announcement, a wishlist milestone campaign is running from August 13 until the official release. Rewards are tiered by registration numbers: 30,000 registrations grant 8,000 Gold Certificates, 100,000 grant two Low-Grade Recognition Media, 200,000 grant two Weapon Inspection Boxes, and the final goal of 300,000 grants a special commemorative frame.
