Kennedy "Kenzie" Freeman founded Luv Letter Studios in February 2023. In three years, the black-and-female-led team has worked on one music video, two commercials, six films, and over 55 shows for studios including Disney, DreamWorks, MAPPA, and Toei. At Anime NYC, Freeman and her team held a panel on the realities of the anime business, from landing work to getting paid.

Crunchyroll confirmed on Monday that the webtoon-based Korean animated film Your Letter will join its Crunchyroll Anime Nights theatrical screening program. The film will screen in Korean with English subtitles in the U.S. and Canada for one night on August 17, with tickets going on sale the same day as the announcement. The film will also screen in Japan with a Japanese dub under the title En no Tegami on September 25, featuring talent Nako Yabuki and voice actor Kensho Ono in the Japanese-language version, with CoMix Wave Films distributing. Yong-Hwan Kim directed the film, which opened in Korea on October 1. The film won three prizes at the Bucheon International Animation Festival, including the Jury Award for Feature Film, Best Music, and Best Technical Achievement. The story follows Sori, a principled young girl bullied at school who transfers to a new school, where a mysterious trail of letters leads her on a magical scavenger hunt. The webtoon, drawn by Hyeon A Cho, ended in 2019 and earned a near-perfect 9.98 rating during its run.

The Harvey Awards announced nominees for the 2026 ceremony, with five anime and manga-related projects nominated for Best Adaptation from Comic Book/Graphic Novel. The Best Manga category includes seven titles. The winners will be announced at New York Comic Con on October 9.

Kinyuu Joshi. Co., Ltd. and SocioFuture Co., Ltd. began providing Letter, a communication tool for experiential IR, on July 7, 2026. The project marks the 10th anniversary of Kinyuu Joshi., which started in 2016 and has grown to 3,500 members and over 10,000 contacts nationwide.
