Kunio Okawara is attached to the After War Gundam X 30th anniversary line as a mechanical designer, with new art in the record compilation and framed prints, and to the Votoms x EDWIN jeans release as the designer of a purchase bonus clear file.
Kunio Okawara's recent work in these stories runs through two franchises: After War Gundam X and Armored Trooper Votoms. For Gundam X, his involvement is tied to the 30th anniversary record collection, A.W. 30th Chronicle. The two-volume set includes rough designs by Okawara, and its Resolution cover carries a newly drawn illustration by him. Pre-orders opened in June 2026, and the set ships in January 2027.
The anniversary line then extended past the book. The collection's cover and box art were turned into three framed reproduction artworks sold through Premium Bandai's Sunrise Store, with Okawara among the three illustrators (alongside Junya Ishigaki and Nobuyoshi Nishimura). Those prints are 33,000 yen with tax and are scheduled to ship in March 2027, with pre-orders running until January 11, 2027.
Separately, Bandai Namco Filmworks is releasing Armored Trooper Votoms x EDWIN Collaboration Jeans Red Shoulder Custom Design. The purchase bonus is an A4 clear file with new artwork by Okawara, the mechanical designer named in the announcement. Preorders opened October 9, 2026 and close November 30, 2026, with shipping around late March 2027 at 39,600 yen including tax.
