Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen Anime Adds Cast, Theme Songs, Sets July 4 Premiere

The television anime adaptation of Hiroshi Shiibashi's manga Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen has announced two new supporting cast members and its theme songs, along with a July 4 premiere date. Voice actors Gen Satou and Shinnosuke Tokudome join the cast as Ryuu Sazame and Mizuka Awatama, respectively. Japanese boy-band THE JET BOY BANGERZ performs the opening theme "BUDDING," and WOLF HOWL HARMONY performs the ending theme "Koko ni Iru." The anime will air on Tokyo MX at 10:30 p.m. and on Sun TV every Saturday starting July 4. Toshifumi Kawase directs the series at Studio Deen, with Keiichirou Oochi handling series composition, Atsuko Nakajima designing characters, and Yoshiaki Dewa and Toru Ishitsuka composing the music. The previously announced main cast includes Taito Ban as Kodo Iwamoto, Yuki Sakakibara as Kai Haramachi, and Kento Ito as Soichiro Amaba, among others. Shiibashi began the manga as a one-shot in Shonen Jump+ in March 2020 before it began regular serialization in Ultra Jump in February 2021. Shueisha published the 13th volume on January 19, with the 14th volume scheduled for July 17.
