Final Fantasy Resonance Preview Shows Gacha Reborn as Growth System

Final Fantasy Resonance, the console rebuild of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, launches October 22 on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Steam version a day later. A demo covering all of Chapter 1 is available now. The buy-to-play title is the first in the series to use HD-2D, and it converts FFBE's gacha-based Vision system into Vision Crystals equipped like FFVII Materia.

Square Enix Announces Final Fantasy Resonance, First HD-2D Entry in the Series

Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy Resonance, a new RPG based on the first season of mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, rebuilt as a console title. It launches October 22, 2026 on PC, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch. The game is the first Final Fantasy to use HD-2D visuals, with turn-based battles, break gauges, and a Vision system for equipping character abilities.
