Bandai Namco Pictures announced on October 17 that the new film Aikatsu Stars! ~Hoshi no Progress~ opens nationwide on January 22, 2027. A key visual and main trailer were released, and the theme song 'Five stars' was unveiled in part. The story follows Nijino Yume and friends near graduation, summoned by Elza to the Venus Jamboree. Teruo Sato directs; Yuko Kakihara writes the screenplay.

Two operators join: Xai, a Support/Cold unit who amplifies damage and creates an attack-target duplicate called Ink Soul, and Minho, a Vanguard/Electric unit who charges on a mount named Nuri. A special website marking the 15th anniversary of the Inu x Boku SS TV anime is open. The Kitakyushu Pop Culture Festival, running November 28 and 29, 2026, will host an Inu x Boku SS TV Anime 15th Anniversary Stage with Rina Hidaka, who plays Ririchiyo Shirakiin, and Yoko Hikasa, who plays Nobara Yukinokouji, scheduled to appear. Anniversary comments from the main cast and staff accompany the site.
Movie Detective PreCure! The Mysterious Garden and the Two Secrets opened on September 18 and drew 440 million yen and more than 357,000 admissions in three days. New stills show Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure KyunKyun from Kimi to Idol PreCure alongside Cure Wonderful, Cure Friendly, Cure Nyammy, and Cure Lillian from Wonderful PreCure. Satoru Toyama and Daifuku also appear and transform.
CyberAgent announced Friday that Yūichi Nakamura will play Soshiro Azami in the Kagurabachi television anime, described as a sorcerer affiliated with the Kamunabi. Takeru Hokazono's manga stars Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira, Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba, Miku Itō as Hinao, and Miyari Nemoto as Char Kyonagi. The anime premieres in April 2027 and streams worldwide that month excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea.
At the 4Gamer booth on the final day of Tokyo Game Show 2026, Yuichi Nakamura and Mafia Kajita hosted a "Washagana TV Business Trip Edition" stage for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, joined by SNK producer Shinya Tamaki and director Hayato Chikaya. The event ran September 20, 2026. Nakamura, who voices Cain, picked his own character in training mode and ran combos using Smart Style, which lets players perform moves with simple inputs. The developers described an arcade mode continuing the previous game's story plus episodes covering its ending and the characters' daily lives. During a look at Salvatore Ganacci, the team said he arranges techniques learned from Terry, and that a crouching attack reproduces movements from a music video. Near the end, SNK announced the Nintendo Switch 2 digital version is scheduled for October 22, 2026, with the packaged version on January 21, 2027. Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji from the Tokyo Revengers TV anime will join in Season Pass 3. Nakamura called basic combos easy and said the game is extremely easy to play.
Toho announced on Sunday that the second cours of the Though I Am an Inept Villainess anime will premiere in January 2027 under the title The First Royal Outing arc. Three cast members join the new arc: Yuichi Nakamura as Kou Keikou, Reirin's eldest brother; Shunichi Toki as Kou Keishou, her second-eldest brother; and Chiaki Kobayashi as Unran, described as the young leader of a village in the southern territories. A key visual and character visuals were released alongside the news. The arc moves the story to early autumn for the Harvest Festival, held in the southern lands ruled by the Shu clan. With no consort as guardian, Keigetsu continues preparations under pressure, while Reirin supports her and looks forward to her first royal outing. An unforeseen accident interrupts the ritual, Keigetsu's spell runs out of control, and the two swap bodies again. After the swap, Reirin is abducted. The staff returns from the first cours, which premiered on July 12.
The latest Wasyagana TV video, released on September 14, 2026, features gameplay from Another Eden Begins, the console rebuild of Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space. Hosts Yuichi Nakamura and Mafia Kajita play through the rebuilt early portion, covering the fully voiced story and reworked battles. A bonus segment shows Cyrus's companion quest. Wright Flyer Studios plans to release the game on September 17, with a demo running through main story chapter 6 and carryover save data.
The official website for Sunrise and Production I.G's Sōkō Kihei Votoms Haiiro no Hexe revealed the cast, character designs, and a 30-second trailer for the two new Armored Trooper Votoms films. Shinichirō Miki, Yūki Kaji, Yūichi Nakamura, and others join the cast. Miyuki Sawashiro plays the feared AT pilot Ash Vamps, known as the Grey Witch.
Sunrise's 50th anniversary Armored Trooper Votoms film The Grey Witch, directed by Mamoru Oshii, revealed its full main cast. The Jujutsu Kaisen anime closed its 5th anniversary with Jujutsu Fest 2026 at K Arena Yokohama on August 29 and 30. Day 1 brought the main cast on stage, live songs from Who-ya Extended, KITANI TATSUYA and jo0ji, a fan-voted awards corner, and a new super teaser visual for TV anime Season 4, the Culling Game Part 2, centered on Ryomen Sukuna. Yuichi Nakamura told the crowd to wait for the next season to begin.
Drecom opened the collaboration event between its 3D dungeon RPG Wizardry Variants Daphne and Square Enix's MMORPG Final Fantasy XI on July 30, 2026. The event, titled "Castle of the Deep Dark Fantasy," runs until September 10 at 12:59. It adds a collaboration-exclusive dungeon and story where a suspicious castle appears in Northern Hollow, the lord's sons go missing, and players must track the ghost castle to bring them back. Three Final Fantasy XI characters join as new adventurers: Prishe, the Cursed Child of Tavnazia, voiced by Aya Hirano; Iroha, the Singer of the Star's Song, voiced by Inori Minase; and Zeid, the Black Iron Whirlwind, voiced by Shin-ichiro Kamio. Players can obtain one of six recruitment items during the event, choosing among these three collaboration adventurers or three legendary adventurers: Red Beard, the Rebel Against God; Arboris, King of the Sea of Trees; and Avenius, the Flash. The collaboration also introduces Relic Weapons, special equipment obtainable with Gil and upgradeable through reforging, plus a Trade Broker in Northern Hollow Village for trading reforge materials. Special supplies and limited-time missions offer additional scrolls and Gil. A dedicated website includes a Collaboration Rank Test quiz and a promotional video.
The new Ghost in the Shell TV anime, produced by Science SARU, has revealed its main cast. Maaya Sakamoto voices Motoko Kusanagi, succeeding Atsuko Tanaka. Kazuhiro Yamaji, Hiroki Yasumoto, and Yuichi Nakamura also star. The series began airing on July 7 on the Fire Anime!! block on Kantele and Fuji TV.
