Charlize Theron is an executive producer on Hulu's developing live-action series adaptation of the WEBTOON The Mafia Nanny, and she is in the cast of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which opens September 11 after IMAX early screenings September 4 to 10.
Charlize Theron's recent coverage splits between an executive producer credit on a developing streaming series and a role in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Hulu is developing a live-action series adaptation of The Mafia Nanny, the WEBTOON action romance written by Violet Matter with art by sh00 and assistants roousuu and Drawniels. Theron is an executive producer. Max Gill will write and executive produce, with 20th Television, Secret Menu, WEBTOON Productions, and Steady Collective producing. The webcomic has more than 420 million views globally.
The Odyssey is further along. It holds IMAX early screenings from September 4 to 10, ahead of a September 11 release. The film also gets simultaneous release in six formats and nine versions, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, MX4D, and 35mm, with special visuals released for each. Theron is among the cast.
The two stories do not connect beyond her name. One places her behind the camera on a project still in development, the other puts her in front of it on a film with a dated release and a premium-format rollout. Neither story states her role size in The Odyssey, and neither gives a production start or release window for The Mafia Nanny.
